The Exploring Technology class designed and constructed some miniature medieval trebuchets during their engineering unit. They even tested their accuracy on a small castle for the full effect! #STEM #ChangingLives
Happy #EarthDay! Take a look at these posters that Ms. Pothier's class made - there are some fantastic suggestions for how we can help the Earth! #ChangingLives
The Grade 12 English class has been reading Julius Caesar and Ms. Taylor reports that the paraphrasing has been entertaining and on point - apparently "Julius dipped" is not how Shakespeare originally described Caesar exiting a scene, but it's working for this group!
Jada and Mr. Cottrell were learning about bats and about the white nose disease that has decimated their population. Naturally, they decided to build a bat box to help them thrive! #ChangingLives #AlsoChangingBatLives
The Landmark East Foundation Spring Bottle Drive is tomorrow!
Here's a few Exploring Technology students testing the strength of their bridges. They designed and built the bridges as part of their engineering unit!
Alan, a Grade 12 student and talented photographer/videographer, created this ad as part of a media literacy unit in English. He said the only parts that aren't original are the animations at the very start and very end (and the music). Everything else was shot/edited/created by him and the result is amazing!
It's that time of year for the Landmark East Foundation Spring Bottle Drive! This is your chance to - - Do some Spring cleaning, - Be kind to the Earth, - Donate to a great cause and change lives!
Winter in the Annapolis Valley can be beautiful, but the Term 4 list of after school activities is getting us excited for Spring! This term students in Grades 6-12 can sign up for: - Bike Club - Gardening Club... - Fit Fab Fun - Adventure Activities - Outdoor Education - After School of Rock - Recreational Art - Photography - Track and Field - Multi-Sport - Therapeutic Activities - Magic: The Gathering - Hiking - Creative Movement - Electronic Music Production We're fortunate to be a small school with an incredibly dedicated staff (many of whom volunteer to run these clubs) - it means our clubs and activities can change every year depending on the interests and curiosity of our unique, diverse student community! #ChangingLives
We were very lucky to have Dr. Grandin speak at our graduation last year. She's an incredible person with a unique way of learning and seeing the world, and her inventions have revolutionized entire industries. #AutismAcceptance
