Acts of Kindness - no matter how much you many need it yourself.
The National Volunteer Week theme for 2021, The Value of One, The Power of Many, reflects on the awe-inspiring acts of kindness by millions of individuals AND the magic that happens when we work together towards a common purpose.
Today April 16, 2021 The Lions Club of Land O’Lakes assisted the Lakelands Family Health Team with successfully administering 272 Covid-19 vaccinations. The 12 Lions assisted with directing parking, in building directing and sanitation. Thank you for a great day of service.

LIONS CLUB OF LAND O’LAKES NEWSLETTER- SEPTEMBER 2020 Since the last newsletter, we are still keeping busy in our community. Our first general meeting of 2020-2021 took place on August 19th, 2020. It was a BBQ meeting, held outside, it was a good time to be had by all. DG Don Radnor officiated the installation of the Officers for 2020-2021. ... We had our second General Meeting on September 16th, where we were to induct Carol and Derek who attended our BBQ meeting and stepped up and helped serving the food. Carol felt ill and thought it best to not attend. Thank you Carol and Derek. Thank you 2VDG Linda and PDG Bill for attending our meeting. We are looking forward to induct four new members to our Lion family, Carol and Derek, Lynn and Paul at our next General meeting, when the limits from the Ontario Government is lifted. Thank you to Lion Gary Shortt for taking on the position of Treasurer. The Fish Fry scheduled for July 24th has been cancelled for this year. The Golf Tournament has been cancelled for this year. Recycling the beer and liquor bottles and cans is an ongoing task and fundraiser for our club. Big Lion Roar to all the lions who are working tirelessly collecting at over 4 dump sites, sorting and bringing to Beaver Lake. Sprucing up our hall is still ongoing, as we are practicing social distancing. We continue the cleaning and re-organizing the kitchen and main hall. We are working towards having everything completed by Wednesday, September 26th, help is always welcome. Please contact me should you be able to help out. The club purchased an English Oak tree honouring longtime treasurer Lion Carl Lane planted on 21 September 2020, assisted by Carl’s wife Lion Dianne and President Lion Phil Barchard. The everyday administration work for the club is continuing seamlessly, such as reporting, keeping in touch with our members and other clubs in our District, paying the bills and organizing meetings.
