Manhattans rental market was hit with a tidal wave of new inventory as New Yorkers continued to flee the borough in the wake of COVID-19. Rental listings rose... 14.5% from a year ago to a record 15,025 at the end of August, according to New York-based real estate and consulting firm Miller Samuel. While the vacancy rate climbed to 5.1%, a new record, there was some stabilization as the number of new lease signings edged up 0.8% to 4,990. With a nominal uptick in month over month new lease signings, activity appeared to bottom last month, wrote Miller Samuel CEO Jonathan Miller. Landlords enticed new tenants by offering the largest share of concessions on record. Slightly more than 54% of new lease signings received concessions, like a month of free rent or payment of brokers fees. Rental prices were down 7.7% from a year ago, including concessions, with the biggest declines occurring in the lower-priced segment of the market. See more

In this new report by LOCO (https://www.locobc.ca/cpages/resources), they sh...ow that permit wait times are a significant cost for brick & mortar businesses in Vancouver. The average wait time for a City permit or business license is 8.2 months, which results in $513,390 in lost revenue and extra costs. If we accept that permits and licenses are necessary (most probably arent) the solutions to the problem are simple: relax regulations (especially zoning) and streamline the City review process. In an era when my businesses are struggling, and new ones will be trying to replace those that fail, these sorts of reforms are more necessary than ever to help local businesses to survive. See more

Hello!! Were a small scale, organic farm out on the Fraser River. Weve made a HUGE mistake and planted lots of greens way too early! We need to harvest them A...LL tomorrow (Monday 24th of May). ****Do you need Lysol wipes!?***** Ok friends! If you know me, Im all about the DIY crafts & hobbies. Well, here it is. I remember seeing this a few years ...ago.... and I finally did it as I couldnt find any wipes to buy. HOMEMADE LYSOL DISINFECTANT WIPES What youll need: Water (if needed) Cleaner (anything that kills 99.9% germs, look on the back to see how much water to use) An air tight container A roll of paper towel cut into 3 Put one section of paper towel into your container. In a separate container mix water and cleaner. Slowly pour it over the roll. Once its all damp, pull the middle core piece of the roll out of the paper towel. A boom. Lysol wipes. Follow what your cleaner recommends. If you dont usually water it down, then you dont need to. ***i constantly use my wipes on my cell phone. Our phones need to be cleaned constantly as they go everywhere with us. ****Its sad I have to write this. However. I am not responsible for how you make or use your DIY wipes. I was just sharing a cool idea I remembered from a few years back on how to make wipes as they were not available in stores. Thank you to all who have shared my post, it has spread quickly!
