Good morning Langley BMX. The track is supposed to see a significant rainfall starting tonight and all day tomorrow. Track conditions and forecast will be checked late Saturday evening. If we think it will be too wet to hold practice, it will be cancelled at that time. If there is a chance that it may dry out enough to practice, another assessment will happen early Sunday morning. If practice is cancelled, all those who have registered will automatically be rolled forwar...d and registered for the following Sunday practice. Hello Langley BMX. In the past couple of months, the fundraising team has been successful in overcoming our deficit from last year.and even coming out on the positive side. We are now very excited about our next fundraising opportunity. We are planning on using these funds for significant improvements around the track. Here are a few of the things we are looking at:... grading of our grassy knoll and the backside of turn 1 to make it easier to maintain and create a better viewing area during Provincial and National level races continue to upgrade the motoshed. Fix up our old deck and re-vamp the old office. Upgrade our wifi setup to be able to better stream races in 2021 repaving of the start hill up the face of the first obstacle, as well as pave the finish line area equipment rental to help get the track in top shape for the beginning of the season. So here it is, our next fundraiser. We have teamed up with Meridian Meats and Seafood/Ralph’s Farm Market for the sale of gift cards. You get the full face value of the card, and Langley BMX will be given 30% of the sale. Yes, it is that simple. Langley BMX needs you! Langley BMX runs on Volunteers, fundraising and sponsors. Without the help of the community we would not be here today. During these crazy COVID times the track is unable to raise money through larger races and events. However, we have still been running practices and races when we can, within the guidelines. Aside from the amazing volunteers that offer their time, the track, buildings and bills are still needing to be kept up. Unfortunately this year w...e cannot hold a year end party which always has fabulous silent auction items and gift baskets that bring in a large chunk of fundraising! So in doing this COVID style we are asking the community and local businesses to join us in keeping our track alive and running! Langley BMX is looking for your help with Silent Auction items and Gift Baskets. In the past we have had businesses donate their products, services or a gift certificate. If your business does not sell any of these but you would like to help us, as well as promote your local business, you could make up a gift basket with whatever you prefer! If you do not own a business but would like to make a gift basket or donation on your families behalf that is also very much appreciated. Volunteers will be collecting Silent Auction items between now and December 6th. An event will be made and shared onto the Langley BMX Facebook pages which can be shared to all of your friends and family...Anyone can donate and anyone can bid on Silent Auction items!
