The Langley Camera Club is opening up our special summer meetings on Zoom for interested photographers.

March 12, 2020 Dear Friends, I have made the difficult decision to cancel all LCC meetings, executive meetings, outings and Meet Ups indefinitely. The Executive concurs with this decision.... Between media reports, and government health bulletins I believe it would be irresponsible to continue to gather. We all have someone to protect from this virus, if not ourselves then a loved one. Going forward I will keep in contact with you and I encourage you to contact me directly, either by phone at 604-619-7778 or via email. We will endeavour to continue with the monthly evaluations remotely. So please continue to submit your images. We will also try for a refund on the hall (not likely) or a credit towards next year. I am also putting my head together with a few others for some fun photo challenges we can do via our Facebook Group. Langley Camera Club - Information Night The event will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Review of where the club is at discuss membership fees review levels and competitions go over submitting to Visual Pursuit review themes ... Outing - Early Bird Family Farm The event will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A local family farm. What is there to photograph? Geese and goats and other farm animals, garden ornaments, and flowers. It will be a delightful evening. Development Night - Perfect Light with Lorna Scott The event will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Perfect Light with Lorna Scott - An evening learning how to get that Perfect Light with Lorna Scott. Lorna will be demonstrating off camera light flash using speed light and other types of lighting. August’s locked down competitions will also be announced. Evaluation Night - Theme: Stripes The event will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. September Theme: Stripes - Evaluation and presentation of September Theme images. Program Night - Tim Yaworski - Shoot for the Stars: an introduction to astrophotography. The event will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Learn how to capture the beauty of the night sky with your DSLR or mirrorless camera. This 60-minute workshop teaches you the tools and techniques needed to create stunning images that are truly out of this world. Tim Yaworski is a professional photographer/videographer from Saskatoon, SK. Raised in the lower mainland of BC he now enjoys the easy access to the dark and open skies of the Canadian prairies. As a member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada and in his role as a Tech Advisor for London Drugs, Tim has led workshops and community outreach programs for thousands of people over that last 5 years. Outing - Clayburn Village The event will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 1:00 PM to ?. Weather dependent, more information to come. Development Night - Photoshop Part 1 The event will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Photoshop Part 1 Two simultaneous Photoshop sessions: Beginners/intermediate - Introduction to the workspace, layers, and layer masks Intermediate/advanced - Using Photoshop plugins, actions, and brushes
