As spring break is getting closer, and with today’s announcement from Dr. Henry on outdoor gatherings of up to ten people, it is timely to remind everyone of th...e current guidelines for sport Youth or Minor Teams - No games or scrimmages - Teams are permitted to take part in practise, either indoors or outdoors while observing appropriate physical distancing and mask protocols at all times. ( 2 metre distance when not engaged in physical softball activities, 3 metre distance when doing physical softball activities) (masks mandatory when indoors and NOT engaged in softball activity, exceptions being participants under the age of 12, masks are recommended when outdoors or engaged in softball activity) - Practises are restricted to only with members of a team, no mixing of teams or clubs for practise - Clinics are pre-registration, physical distancing at all times, size of gathering is determined by the facility. Adult Teams - No games or scrimmages - Practise indoors restricted to 2 people - Practise outdoors restricted to a maximum of 4 people, physical distancing must be observed at all times - Physical distancing and mask protocols are the same as for youth teams ( 2 metre distance when not engaged in physical softball activities, 3 metre distance when doing physical softball activities) (masks mandatory when indoors and NOT engaged in softball activity, exceptions being participants who, for medical reasons cannot wear a mask, masks are recommended when outdoors or engaged in softball activity) The sport sector is continuing to work with the public health office and is part of advisory committees to keep the sport perspective and dialogue continuing with the PHO. As well, organized advocacy groups are in contact with the sport ministry to ensure our concerns are heard. We don’t know when the current restrictions will begin to be eased off, but it will be a gradual and deliberate process. Please continue to follow the guidelines and criteria you have in place, keeping our members and our community safe remains our top priority. Thank you Rick Benson Executive Director, Softball BC

Dear Softball BC Members and Community As we get closer to the one-year mark since the world changed, we want to take a few minutes to thank you for your patien...ce and support as we navigate through these challenging times. As 2021 begins, Softball BC Staff and the Return to Play Committee have been working hard to update the guidelines, process and procedures that will ensure a safe and efficient return to play. We are working to get everyone back on the diamond, safely, as soon as we can and will continue to work with our sport partners at viaSport and with the Government of British Columbia’s Public Health Authority. Keeping a close eye on the current restrictions and Public Health Orders, Softball BC is committed to the resumption of play which includes planning for the 2021 Provincial and Regional Championships. We will be looking at all options for these events and are working with hosts to put on the safest, most fun, and memorable experiences we can! For a full list of the dates and locations secured to date, please visit our website starting February 15th. Softball BC is also in contact frequently with Softball Canada and the Western Canada Softball Association regarding any updates on post-provincial championships. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please connect with your District Coordinator, Club President, or a member of the Softball BC Staff. As a reminder Softball activity is restricted to Inning 1 protocols. For more information on the Return to Play Guidelines please visit the Softball BC website. Sincerely, Softball BC Board of Directors

We are lucky within Langley Rep Fastpitch to have 2 associations supporting all of our Fusion and Xtreme teams! In order for them to continue to do this and grow the game at the grass roots level we need to help them get the word out about registration within their 'C' programs. North Langley Softball is the go to place for kids that live North of 72nd and Langley Fastball is for those kids that live South of 72nd. Registration for both associations is currently open. ... North Langley: https://softball.nldiamondsports.ca/ Langley Fastball: www.langleyfastball.ca Help us spread the word and get more kids playing this great game of ours. #langleyrepfastpitch #northlangleysoftball #langleyfastball #softball #fastpitch #fastball #langley

Lest we forget.

Langley Rep Fastpitch: Home of Xtreme & Fusion 21.09.2020

With the new public health order announcement yesterday from Dr. Bonnie Henry, we know there is some confusion and concern among our families and coaches. We have now had confirmation from Softball BC regarding what this means for us. All softball related activities within the Lower Mainland have reverted back to Inning 1 protocols for at least the next two weeks, until Nov 23rd, effectively immediately. Please see the attachments for Softball BC's announcement and also the o...utline of Inning 1. This means we can still practice but MUST follow the rules listed below: Social distancing MUST be maintained. Sanitization of shared equipment and hands MUST be done on a regular basis during a practice. Absolutely no games or scrimmages are allowed. In order to ALL do our part to flatten the curve and allow us to get back to our Inning 3 we are strongly suggesting the following from our families: STAY HOME if you are sick at all. Wear masks whenever possible. Wash or sanitize your hands whenever possible. As we have all learned through the last few months, this direction could change again on a moment's notice. We will update you if we are informed of any changes. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to us or your coaches.
