Next month, let’s pilot to new planets and asteroids inspired by French storyteller and illustrator, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Mr. Saint-Exupéry was an avid doodler and had a very unique style; his story of The Little Prince is the most successful, best-selling and translated book ever published! Our students will get to explore different terrains, colourful atmospheres, interstellar landscapes and create simple story blocks. Spring Break Camps have been such a blast at this studio. Structured ex...tracurricular activities and programs (for young children) can continue to operate as long as there is a Covid plan in place. These include education, art & recreational centres. We temperature check everyone before entering the class, and masks are mandatory for all. We encourage lots of hand washing, physical distance, and one way traffic when entering and exiting the studio. As always feel free to DM us for more info about our Covid plan. I try to apply colours like words that shape poems, like notes that shape music - Joan Miró Join us for Acrylic Painting weekly classes to create fun masterpieces like this! We use high quality acrylics on canvas and learn to layer background, foreground and all the fun things in between. We learn basic brush techniques, practice hand-eye coordination, and then we can add little touches to make the paintings our very own. It may get a little messy, but it’s super enjoyable!

Come one, come all! Next month, we're going to take a trip to the circus fair, and explore all the whimsical colours and shapes of Joan Miro's painterly world. This month, we had such a blast with our circus theme! Our young ringmasters jumped through hoops creating these colourful dream-like #JoanMiró inspired abstract animals . We juggled different motifs, balanced fun figures with simple shapes, and gleefully finger-painted like Miró. Check out these paintings, drawings, sculptures and mixed media projects made by our young artistes We will be starting new projects inspired by Eric Carle on April 1st! We love hosting private painting workshops for you and your family bubble. This beautiful triptych (inspired by Monet’s Poppy Field) was painted by a little girl, her mother and grandmother! It was such a wonderful experience, and a joy to help create these masterpieces for their homes. Kind reminder our studio is closed tomorrow on Remembrance Day. Hello LAB families! Just wanted to give you all a quick update given BC’s Dr. Bonnie Henry’s recent provincial health order today. LAB will still be able to operate, as we will maintain our plan to ensure physical distancing, and mask wearing throughout our 1800 sq/ft studio space. Students are all pre-registered to enter the space, and working on individual projects with their own tools, so there is little opportunity to physically interact with one another. Beep boop! Last month, we looked forward into the future in a far off galaxy of #VincentvanGogh ‘a Starry Night and found so many lovable robot characters! The kids did such a great job with the dashes, dots and swirls, and created such awesome artsy landscapes for their robot stories. . . We’ve just started our batch of new projects this month - yay! Yay! Happy Boss Day! Sending some virtual hugs and support to all the boss babes out there!!! We’re grateful to have each other, especially during these tough times! As long as we persevere, success is out there. Our community has been so encouraging and supportive; we promise to continue bringing the artsy farty fun and quality in our classes and events for as long as you’ll have us! What a fun weekend we had with all those who came and joined our celebratory workshops! We’re commemorating 6 years of LAB in the making, end of summer camps in our a new studio location, and the start of fall classes!
