Hey Lansdowne Students! We look forward to you all logging into your teacher’s Seesaw or Google Classroom TOMORROW morning at 8:50 for your first meeting! Please see the post below for more details! We can’t wait to see you again!

To our Lansdowne Students and Families: Beginning, Monday, April 19th, students, with devices, will join their class virtually, through Google Meet or SeeSaw, beginning at their regular morning bell time (8:50 am) for approximately 30 minutes. During this time teachers and education workers will reconnect with their class, provide instructions/activities for the day and gather information about student technology needs. Teachers will spend the remainder of the day addres...sing technology needs and connecting with students absent from the morning class/who do not have tech needed, etc. If this is the case, please watch for a phone call (may be listed as "No Caller ID") and/or email from your child's teacher to discuss learning needs/plan to support your child. For the duration of this indefinite remote learning, students should anticipate spending 75-80% of their 300-minute school day participating in live (synchronous) learning time with their teacher(s) and education worker(s). This period of remote learning is the same as during January and into February. Attendance matters and engaged student learning during the school day must occur. Let's work together to make this happen. If you have any questions or need support, please contact your child's classroom teacher on Monday. We know this is a difficult time for everyone. But we have missed you all and look forward to connecting with our students and families once again! Thank you.

BIRTHDAY CLUB Every child gets excited when their birthday draws near - but too many know they will not get anything as they hear their parents talk about how t...hey are going to be able to pay the bills, buy the groceries, pay the rent. By signing up at The Inn, families can get a birthday kit for their child - a couple toys, stuffed animal, book, cake mix and icing. The Inn's Birthday Club helps make sure that child can be like any other child and that birthdays are time to celebrate!

To Our Lansdowne Families, As the Easter weekend approaches, staff will be asking students to collect and bring home any personal belongings and most of their learning materials prior to the weekend. They will also be tidying cubbies, desks, etc. so that no food or drink items are left behind. This is a precautionary measure as we want to ensure students and their families have access to important items such as eyeglasses, medication, shoes, etc. if the Minister of Education ...makes the decision to extend the Easter weekend. The Minister of Education has stated that there are currently no plans to extend the break, but as we have learned with COVID-19, we should expect the unexpected, and that things can change quickly. As such, we want to be prepared just in case. We would ask that you kindly return these items to school with your child(ren) on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 should we return to school as expected on this date. Thank you for your continued patience, support and understanding as we continue to navigate our way through this pandemic. We will be sending this same message out to all of our families via School Messenger email and phone call tomorrow morning. Wishing everyone a safe and restful long weekend.

Lansdowne commemorates Remembrance Day today through learning and a digital assembly. It is important we understand the sacrifices that were made and continue to be made. We honour, thank and remember the contributions of all veterans including the many Indigenous veterans and military personnel who volunteered to fight in conflicts from the First World War to the peace support operations of present.
