I spoke to Christopher Brice about the ongoing progress of the Wakefield Hills Development. He was made aware that demands for types of units were different than they anticipated during the first phase. This prompted them to modify their plans to create more for this particular type of demand. Zelo speaks about the public consultation process that took place in Wakefield and how they went about finding solutions regarding some of concerns that had been raised. Zelo offered 8 units as affordable housing. Unfortunately, L’Office d'habitation de l'Outaouais felt that the units were overpriced which has resulted in the rescinding of the offer for the 8 units. https://youtu.be/A7d0OBDSLes

Jennifer Kun made a post to Wakefield Folks and now the village is coming together in picking up its trash. The village of Wakefield is a great tourist destination with the Gatineau Park, hills, rivers, biking and unique village shops. Each summer the village becomes a busy tourist destination for the gem of a village that it is. Last summer and this past winter the garbage bins were continually overflowing and residents are now needing help in keeping their village free o...f trash. A suggestion is for the municipality to collect the trash bin garbage with more frequency. The residents are feeling if the town is clean from trash before the tourists come, the tourists may be more likely to be motivated to keep the town free from their trash. It is time for solutions to help maintain a litter free, butt free and overflowing trash can village. Earth day is a great time to remind everyone to maintain a healthy clean environment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYT_5jAUwF0 See more
