Got the email from the College of Massage Therapist of Ontario, and as a regulated health profession ***I am still allowed to provide massage therapy services as this time*** That being said, the wording of the college does state it is up to your own discretion, and the benefits of the treatment should out weigh the risk of exposure. ... I take all the precautions necessary, and did the required hours of public health education before reopening, but it is ultimately up to you if you wish to attend your appointment or not. If you would like to reschedule, or cancel your appointment please reach out in advance, last minute cancellations are incredibly tough to fill with another client, or to plan my day. Thank you so much for being understanding!!

Hey everyone!! Sending everyone love and Grace right now with the announcement today! If you need to move your appointment because you’ll have kids at home to deal with please let me know ASAP. ... I won’t be adjusting my appointments at all, but please be kind and understanding about the fact my kids will be home. Thanks so much in advance. The end is in sight I hope

Just officially heard from the CMTO, RMT's do not have to cease working during the provincial lockdown. We have very strict protocols in place for public health, and I am so happy to be able to continue working. Your appointments that are booked are all good, however if you feel like the slight risk doesn't out weigh the benefit of massage then please let me know and we can reschedule. Thanks so much for all of your support in 2020. I am so incredibly grateful for my clients and community at this time!

Tis the season, to be booked like crazy! Welcome to 2020, the year where everyone has benefits left because no one got a massage from March-June! December is currently 60% booked, so if you were thinking about getting in, please message me soon. Email is preferred! [email protected]. I currently am not accepting new clients.

Tis the season my friends... Benefits that expire in December always have people messaging me to use them the last weeks of November. I have limited evenings, and will work one weekend a month, so if you know you're needing to use multiple sessions get in touch sooner rather than later :)

Check your email clients... Just sent out the plan for the time being. (Let me know if you didn't receive one and I will double check I have your correct email address). I will be starting to take appointments slowly, beginning June 8th. Only in Dorchester, not at West London CrossFit yet, I have chosen to wait until the gym is allowed to open. ... Email to book your appointment :) There will be limited availability, so I truly appreciate your patience. I've got the kids home with me, and they are used to me working occasionally. However just because I can, doesn't mean I should (all of the time). Thank you for your understanding. There are many details covered in the email, as well as in the appointment reminder email you will receive when booked. Let me know if you have any questions at all. Warmly; Lara

Hello friends/clients! You may have heard yesterday that Registered Massage Therapists could gradually return to practice. You're all super pumped, I hear you. You've waited patiently and respectfully, and you need a massage. ... I miss working, routine, and helping each and every one of you feel your best. However, the 'return to practice' guidelines are muddy at best. There are many steps I need to complete to be operating where I was before (and may not be able to reach that due to childcare and time constraints). This announcement was sudden, and unexpected. The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario is directing us to gradually reopen, starting with urgent and emergency care only (With no direction on how to define that). We need to have PPE, proper disinfecting materials, and completely revamp treatment rooms, and write many new templates for forms. It will be slow going for me for awhile, and I also will not be returning to @West London Crossfit until it opens. I will be sending out an email soon with all guidelines, procedures, prices, and booking information. I look forward to helping you feel extraordinary (in the safest way possible) sometime very soon. Keep Smiling! Lara

Sometimes I shower and curl my hair and put on a pencil skirt so I can take a professional headshot. . . But most of the time I’m in yoga pants, hair in a messy bun, a ton of dry shampoo, and running around with my kids between massage clients and birth support clients. .... . I love this life I’ve built for myself. I’m blessed to be able to do what I love and am passionate about as a job, and to be able to build a flexible schedule around my kids lives. . Being a doula is the coolest gig, I love all the differences in each birth story. Long labours, short labours, hospital births, home births, midwife births, OB births, first, second or third babies. I adore it all. Being able to provide emotional, physical and educational support to families in this time of change and uncertainty is unbelievably rewarding. . . If you know of anyone looking for a doula I am booking into 2021 . #birth #baby #doula #birthsupport #laboursupport #midwives #homebirth #fullspectrumdoulas #babies #momlife #selfcare #londonontario #the519 #hereforher #girlboss #dynamicdoulas #childbirtheducation #pregnancy #expecting #headshot #studio112 #girlboss #entrepreneur #crossfitmom #momblogger #thefutureisfemale #glam See more

Our governing body hasn't released ANYTHING official yet, keep that in mind when reading this article. We will likely be one of the last provinces massaging. Therefore the other provinces are paving the way for us. As for PPE we aren't sure what will be suggested vs required. What seems certain is, slightly shorter appointment times, and a raise of fees due to increases overhead for PPE. I am not sure what that will look like until we are given our rules moving forward. ... Thank you SO much for your patience. Can't wait to get back to work.

Lara Martens, Registered Massage Therapist 14.07.2020

Hey clients! I know you're all eager for me to be back to work, unfortunately there are no signs I'll be taking any appointments at least in the nest couple weeks. I'm not sure what 'phase' of the province's reopening RMT's will fall under, and also what the specifications will be for PPE in the clinic setting. Thank you for being patient, I miss you so much. As someone who loves the conversation part of my job JUST as much as I love making you all feel better, this has been... extremely trying. I can't wait to be back to work, and will let you know as soon as I do when I will be back. In the meantime, stretch, drink water, enjoy the outside as much as you can, and if you need some physical relief there are chiropractors still seeing people on an emergency basis, so check out Cafe of Life Chiropractic Studio if you're in need! Hopefully see you soon!
