United Way Community Volunteer Income Tax Program In this time of great uncertainty, United Way/Centraide North East Ontario Nord-est de’Ontario has changed its Community Volunteer Income Tax Program to a virtual format, in which clients have their tax returns completed over the phone. We have now extended this program until January 31, 2022, in order to enable low income earners to be able to access this service for much longer. It is vital that our most vulnerable citizens have access to income supports that might be available! For more information, please visit http://www.uwcneo.com/
FIRE PERMIT UPDATE The Larder Lake Fire Department will not be issuing new fire permits until after the provincial stay-at-home order has been lifted. During this time 2020 fire permits may be honored as long as your fire pit has not undergone any changes. ... Once the order has been lifted, all residents are reminded that By-Law # 1435-12 requires that all residents wishing to set or maintain an open air fire between April 1st and October 31st are to obtain a new fire permit from the Larder Lake Fire Department. Residents are also reminded that in the event of a fire ban being proclaimed by the Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry, or by the Larder Lake Fire Chief, all fire permits are cancelled. We would also like to remind all residents that you may only burn wood or by-products of wood, and you are not allowed to burn prohibited substances such as kitchen garbage, construction materials and materials containing rubber, plastics, tar or any which emit a noxious or poisonous substance or pollutant. All residents who wish to have a campfire in their back yards should do so using an approved Outside Fire Pit or Outside Fireplace. If you have any questions or to request a permit application, please contact the Township at 643-2158 . Thank you and have a safe summer!

We’ve received a lot of great questions about COVID-19! Here’s an answer to one frequently asked question: What should I do if I need to self-isolate? If you ne...ed to self-isolate, that means: You must stay home unless you need to get tested or require emergency medical care. You can go on your own property only (balcony or deck, walk in your yard) but you must keep a 2 metre distance from others. You may not go to work, school, or other public places. You must separate yourself from others, including those in your home, with the purpose of preventing the spread of COVID-19. You cannot have any visitors, unless essential (for example, care providers). For more information, visit https://www.publichealthontario.ca//factsheet-covid-19-how. Remember: The Health Unit has issued a Class Order under Section 22 of the Ontario Health Protection and Promotion Act, which allows the Health Unit to enforce self-isolation requirements for certain individuals. If the Health Unit instructs you to self-isolate, you must do so.
