Some of you may not know me personally so Id like to share a bit about myself. I was born and raised in Cold Lake, and am now married with 2 children. We love it here, and try to make the most of each season. Right now, that means hitting the beach every chance we get. I started taking piano lessons when I was 8, and achieved my grade 9 piano certificate with the Royal Conservatory. I then went on to earn my Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education at the University of Al...berta. I have taught Elementary music as well as been a classroom teacher of grades 4-6. When I decided to stay home with my children, I found Music for Young Children classes to be a perfect fit for my experience and my time. I want my studio to be a place where everyone can find something they love in music. Most of my students will not go on to use their skills professionally, but thats not the main goal of music education. Music is a gift that we can learn to appreciate and participate in. I want to bring back sing-alongs and family music making. My dream is to empower people who think they cant sing and bring them into the joy of making music with others. I hope to share some folk songs with you to inspire you to make music in your home.

Here at MYC we have a "secret code". This was made by my 4 year old Sunshine 1 graduate. His favourite part of music is writing his own songs.

My Sunbeams class has 3 spots left, so I am holding a free trial next Wednesday at 4:30. This class is for beginner piano students aged 5-6. We learn piano and music skills through play, movement, and song.

Moonbeam is a starter piano program for 7-9 year-olds that introduces rhythm, piano technique, and listening skills. This more advanced class is fast paced yet ...flexible to accomodate different learning styles and needs. I am running a free trial class Thursday, August 8 at 4:30. Sunshine is a beginning keyboard program for 3.5-4 year-olds that introduces rhythm, piano technique, and singing. Children are engaged through games, songs, and hands on activities. I am very excited to be starting Music for Young Children classes and private piano lessons in the fall. Here are my rates for those who are interested: Sunrise (age 2-3): $15/class, $36.74 registration and supplies Sunshine/Sunbeam (age 3-6): $20/class, $189.89 registration and supplies... Moonbeam/My Choice (age 7 and up): $20/class, $190.93 registration and supplies Private Lessons (all ages): $20/30min lesson, supplies dependent on level I have a limited number of spots for private lessons and will give priority to non-beginning students as MYC is an amazing way to start piano.
