a little story about these paintings--a few years back, .6 of us started a a art group called men in hats--and we would go out painting outside once a week--in... the winter or bad whether we would go to Dave Mcholm"s studio and Dave would put on his computer one of his photos and we would all paint from it. these paintings where from Dave's trip to France with Mike Svob"s art trip. thanks Dave for the memories. So many comments and questions concerning The Prowlers performing with Bill Haley and the Comets at the Kerrisdale Arena (1956) in Vancouver. Pictures of a few ...versions of the band are included here. #1 teen hop at John Oliver High School was the group that performed with Bill Haley... we had matching outfits for the show. See more

Re: Prowlers recordings In May, 1958 The Prowlers released a Les Vogt penned tune Get A Move On Backed with an early Jerry Lee song I’m Feelin’ Sorry. As ...primitive as it sounds today, I think it was the best local rock'n'roll record ever produced at the time. But, it would never receive the attention it deserved. The teen-age airwaves were then dominated by a young superstar DJ by the name of Red Robinson at CKWX Radio where management deemed The Prowlers competition (as their name represented a competitive radio station) and the disk was buried without any exposure to speak of... CKNW Owl Prowl DJ Jack Cullen launched the band and was the DJ kids listened to until Red came along. An upstart teen jock, Frosty Forst at CJOR, was the only support the record received. With all the kids listening to Red Robinson... the record suffered an early death. Video links attached. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxvCa39MpGA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5Q2BMv17oY
