* Nothing goes to waste, especially good food! * Got some veggie stems leftovers? Use them in a stir fry or soup. I had asparagus and broccoli stems, so I chopped them up and sautéed with carrots and garlic to add to my vegan stir fry. * Easy, delicious, nutritious and fillingHere' the recipe: - 1 package about 3/4 lb (350 gr) organic sprouted tofu... - 2 cups chopped asparagus + broccoli stems, combined - 1 medium carrot, peeled, washed, chopped in small cubes - 2 cloves garlic, minced - 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil - 2 tbsp organic Tamari sauce, a.k.a. low sodium soya sauce - 2 tbsp organic Modena balsamic vinegar - 1/2 cup tomato sauce, preferably organic - dried herbs/ spices to your liking - Optional: 1/4 teaspoon hot chilli sauce (ex: Sriracha) 1) Rinse, drain and pat-dry tofu with paper towel, cut in 0.5-inch cubes. In a bowl, mix with Tamari sauce and balsamic vinegar, cover and marinate in the fridge for 2-3 hours or overnight. 2) In a large frying pan, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil on medium, add tofu with marinade and stir fry until golden brown. Transfer from the pan to a clean bowl, and set aside. 3) In the same frying pan, sautee vegetables and minced garlic with 1 tablespoon olive oil on medium-low stirring occasionally for about 10-15 min, or until tender but not soggy. 4) Add tofu, tomato sauce and hot chilli sauce (if using) to the frying pan with the vegetables, and mix well. * The Big Question: - How much caffeine is too much? * General consensus is up to 400 mg of caffeine a day that appears safe for most healthy adults. * 400 mg caffeine = 4 cups brewed coffee OR 8 cups tea * Try to have beverages/ foods with caffeine before 2pm... * Word of caution: - Some people can be sensitive to caffeine, - You may need to limit/ avoid caffeine with certain meds, - Caffeine is not recommended for kids and teenagers. * Watch for warning signs of caffeine over-consumption: - trouble sleeping, - jitters, anxiousness, - fast heart rate, - upset stomach, nausea, - headache. * Moderation Tastes Best.
