LaSalle Rowing Club 05.05.2021

BREAKING: We are thrilled to announce that the Lasalle Rowing Club has received a $101,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation - Resilient Communities Fund. This grant will allow us to rebuild from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and adapt our rowing programs to provide the best possible rowing experience to the Windsor-Essex community. More specifically, this means the club will be able to purchase a fleet of new singles - some of which will be perfect for novice rowers, while others will be better suited to experienced rowers. Together, this fleet of new boats will allow the rowing club to offer programs to a variety of skill levels and abilities while minimizing the risk of exposure to COVID-19 by reducing crew boats thereby maximizing physical distancing.

Happy International Women’s Day from the LaSalle Rowing Club. We are proud to have so many strong and talented women involved with our club. In fact, 50% of our Executive Board are women, as well as about 70% of our membership last year!

This Sunday, October 4, ten crews competed in the first ever Head of Grassy Regatta at LaSalle Rowing Club. Crews were randomly selected by pairing a Junior and Master rower together. The crews raced the curvy 6.5km course in doubles in staggered time trials. Despite the rainy conditions, all crews did exceptionally well! Congratulations to Eden and Gill (GB Wilson)for taking home the trophy this year with a time of 31:30. Special shout out to runners up Leslie and Sam with a time of 33:12. Third place went to Ripin Moudgil and Alivia with a time of 34:04. Congratulations to everyone who participated!
