So... Im conflicted. I wish I could do more. Thats the helper in me. Ive donated to various groups that assisted/are assisting with the Humboldt Broncos and the aftermath. The Go Fund Me is 7.8 MILLION DOLLARS right now. Holy Dinah. I see lots of various home based businesses offering to donate their commissions for all their sales to the Broncos. And all kinds of other businesses (McDs Tims A&W) doing fundraisers... So my question:... Is there enough happening out there with regards to this effort? Or should I also offer my commission from my sales for April to the Broncos? My only concerns is that it seems like fake sincerity and like Im trying to capitalize at this point, trying to copy everyone else. (NO OFFENSE to anyone who is doing what they can, however they can to help). Thoughts and comments??

Its been a very hard weekend for all of us. For those of you who dont know, I work full time as an RN at Melfort hospital. I was actually on nights when the code orange call was made, so I wasnt called in to assist. Staff from our hospitals, and supplies, from all departments, were dispatched to Nipawin and Tisdale hospitals to assist in whatever way they could. That night at work was devastating. We fielded calls from crying families. We listened and watched for updates.... There was so little that we could actually do. Im not sure that Ive ever felt so helpless. It wasnt til I was on my way home that I broke down and cried. I had NO connection with anyone involved. Ill be honest, Ive never watched hockey while Ive been in SK, but Im a huge Canucks Fan. I love Olympic Hockey. I get it. I get how the hockey community comes together and becomes like family to one another. But Im still so far removed from the situation, and yet I hurt so deeply. I know it may seem like its too much, all the talk and news, but this is how so many people cope. So if someone is reaching out, needing to talk, please listen. Lets continue to come together, neighbours and friends, to support and love one another as we always should. See more
