Check this out. So the Zero Tolerance 0562 is an icon in the high end knife collector community. The only complaint Ive heard about it is the 3/32 detent ball (thats huge) catches the tang after unlocking it, making it difficult to fold closed without moving the lockbar and holding it long enough for the tang to clear the ball. Well, I fixed that. The first pic is the detent ramp I milled and the video in the comments shows how easy it is to clear the detent without holding the lockbar open. Oh and more pics to show the custom anodizing work I did . Purple lock side with stone wash finish and bronze hardware to finish it off.
Fixed up this Chaves JB Stout and made it look baaaad frikken ass! Custom anodized handle and an edge repair. I wish it was mine, its a damn fine little knife.
Another before and after. Plain Jane Curtiss F3 anodized in a blue and bronze fade, then distressed in the tumbler.
Met a fella who got burned on a trade. Someone traded him this battle cleaver claiming it was like new. He received it and it was clearly beat up. He was pissed. Until he met me and I completely refurbished it for half price. I just wanted him to be excited about his new knife. And excited he was! Check out the before and after pictures. I also threw in a lanyard and bead for good measure. Video in comments
Before and after. Chaves 228. I anodized the handle blue /bronze, refinished the blade in a hand rubbed satin, tuned the pivot and made it nasty sharp. Video in comments. (Before photo credit: KnifeCenter.com stock image)
Big giant Medford with a dirty bronze finish on the lock side. Looks great with the OD green micarta presentation side
Beaten and brushed finish then anodized sky blue on this Bker Kwaiken
Beast mode collab with Ryan Westfall ElevatedArms.com
Before and after. Kizer sealion with blue scales and distressed copper accents.
Before and after. Gave this one a makeover with blue anodized handles, distressed with purple anodizing and hand polished the blade.
I was blessed with an opportunity to collaborate with Ryan Westfall of Elevated Arms yet again. I did the blade work and he applied an absolutely amazing marbled cerakoat on the handles. He also machined a custom pocket clip to finish it off. This knife kicks serious ass.
Well Ive been excited about this release since SHOT show. Finally got the ZT 0393 in and of course I couldnt just leave it alone. I bead blasted the handle, leaving a nice natural titanium finish. Im a sucker for blue. But Im an even bigger sucker for different
Just finished this Curtiss F3 medium CG. I did blue anodizing on the handles with a nice bronze undertone. I also acid washed the blade, pivot and hardware, then tumbled with ceramic triangles to create a nice darkwashed finish. It turned out so much better than I ever expected.
Finished up this Curtiss F3. These are my favorite knives to work on. I did a blue anodized finish with a bronze undertone. I acid washed and stone washed the blade, then sharpened it to a hair splitting edge. Then I polished the friction points in the pivot to make it free drop closed like a guillotine. It is one of a kind and very very smooth! Action video in the comments
Before and after
Finished up the transformation on this Andre de Villers classic butcher. It was well loved and now its brand new again. Before (worn black cerakoat and blue ano hardware) and after (glass blasted, stonewashed and blue anodized handle slabs with tac grey hardware). I loved this project
Been doing a little bit of acid washing and tumbling. This leaves a really nice dark finish that holds up great to daily use.
This used to be grey, bare titanium. Now its blue
A couple collaboration pieces with Elevated Arms owner Ryan Westfall.
This is the Jake Hoback collaboration prototype I had the pleasure of working on with Ryan Westfall at Elevated Arms. Weve both done our part to create what we believe is the perfect knife. It heads off to Mr. Hoback to personally inspect next week and we are crossing our fingers for the green light to put these into production (limited edition so these will be very special). I am very excited Ryan invited me to be a part of this!!
Well there she is. Full transformation complete. Green micarta scale, black hardware (I need to re touch the pivot bolt), acid washed and stone washed blade, and a stoopid sharp edge! I am very happy with how this turned out.
