Last year I was breaking out in hives by Xmas Eve and I was very dead inside. Save yourself the madness by raising your prices during or at the start of busy season. I raised my prices in January last year (slow season) to purposefully cut down my client list. Raise your prices in a busy season to keep the same amount of work load (or le...ss if you want) and increase your income! If you’ve been contemplating it, do it now! Give clients 2-4 weeks notice. Some may drop off but you will have MANY new client opportunities in the next two months to fill these spots. You’ll be working less or the same amount (if you want) for more money. This pricing strategy is based on the economic principle of Supply and Demand. Demand is high in busy season so you can raise the price of your service since supply stays fairly stable in winter. You can slowly cycle out your client list for higher paying clients by raising prices each busy season . Alternatively, some current clients will pay your new prices as you gain experience and skills. There are many principles of economics that we can use in our business strategy and they aren’t complicated. I’ll share more economic principles this month so stay tuned. Stomach sleepers, where u at ! Tag or send this to your stomach sleeper clients ! Us lash techs want you to have the best retention and to keep your lashes healthy and looking pretty. Sleeping on your stomach makes it difficult to wear lashes but it can also be hard on your face! Not only does it cause premature shedding of your lash extension and your natural lashes, it can cause wrinkles as well I am a side or back sleeper but I slept on my stomach for some time ...after a bbl surgery. Let me tell you!! I woke up ugly every morning ! - Lymph could not drain from my face at night so I was puffy all day - There were creases in my cheeks that didn’t go away - My lashes flipped and flopped (tension on root and damage to hair shaft) - There were tons of lashes in my bed each morning and I started shedding more during the day - My natural lashes starting growing in weird directions - My neck, back and pelvis got all messed up So just a little nudge to consider whether stomach sleeping is the culprit when it comes to poor retention or lashes that flip and flop over. Your night habits can be the problem! If you must sleep on your stomach or you’re going to have a bbl surgery. Consider: - Getting a silk pillow case - the surface is easier on your hair, lashes and skin - Switch to a thinner lash diameter - thicker diameters like classic 0.15mm lashes are more likely to pop off, be rigid and not bend and can break your natural lash when you lay in your face. 0.05 or 0.03 are more likely to bend with your natural lashes and less likely to pull on your roof when squishing against a pillow - Let your lash tech know, for the love of god ! When you have bad retention we worry and question our abilities and it keeps us up at night. Letting us know about anything affecting your lashes helps us figure out how to work with you for the best result possible! Reposting this because it’s been a year and it’s time to be spooky again Anyone felt like a big fake when doing their first few lash sets!? From the consultation to aftercare, I felt like a big fraud for a long time!! Tag a buddy who understands Imposter syndrome while building your lash tech career is common!! Especially when you’re new or you’re not happy about where you’re skills are at. Sometimes it’s something deeper related to self worth and confidence.... My advice is: 1. Know it’s temporary - skills can change quickly 2. Invest in training 3. Focus on your client experience - you don’t have to be the best tech in your area but they’ll remember things like their back and neck being supported, the eye pad not scraping their eyes, being fan dried enough so their eyes don’t burn driving home, being offered water, starting on time, your hands smelling good (and not like food) and having a cozy blanket. 4. Lash with integrity - watch your isolation, fix mistakes you make and the artistic part will come. Saturday morning mewd since I got my new set of lashes done this week! I usually wear them continuously but I let them grow off for 10 weeks. Not lash related but many of you guys want to know why I dissolved my lips and what’s next. Facial filler is beauty related and many of my followers have it done so here’s some info where you can find it easily. My Surgery highlight has more info as well Here are my natural lips marked up for surgery. I’m having a surgical lip lift! My natural lips were a bit stretched out from braces. I wanted more tooth show and and an upturned upper lip. I had lip filler done for 8 y...ears straight and some had migrated. I had used Juvederm Ultra Plus which has a tendency to migrate above and below the lip. I hated how it looked when I smiled . After researching a bit, I realized that it’s a common problem. I had it all dissolved in July and it took three tries but most of it is out. I think filler should be considered semi-permanent since it’s can found in the body 7 years later! I waited 1 year and 9 months and it wouldn’t dissolve on its own. The dissolving process is painful and according to @drbentalei the dissolver can dissolve some of your own natural Hyaluronic acid so it’s not something you want to do often or at all in some areas like the mid face. Under eye is the least risky area for dissolving filler. Be sure to find a reputable injector and don’t switch around looking for the best deal like I did in the first few years . Treat it like it’s semi permanent. Hope this helps someone else!! Anyhow, I realized the look I wanted would not be achievable with the Botox lip flip. It was nice but I need to speak and enunciate my words at work and it made that tricky and it wore off every time in 6 weeks. So here I am marked up by @drmascaro in Delray Beach, Florida. I’ll fill my lips again in 4-6 weeks but with something other than Juvederm!
