Tucson AZ. Possibly diabetic, orphaned senior at the shelter. He’s losing weight and the staff can’t figure out why.

CUTE!!! This is Benji and he is ADORABLE! Benji had a family in Houston, Texas, who moved and left him behind, even though he's just a tiny little guy with no hope of being able to fend for himself. Luckily a neighbour took him in and got him into rescue so he can find a loving family who would never, ever abandon him. We believe he's around a year old. He looks like a chihuahua cross, weighs around 10-12 pounds, and is playful and friendly with everyone. He's just an all-aro...und winner! Benji is still in Houston but will be coming to Ontario on April 3. If you're interested in adopting him, please send us a message to request an application. His adoption fee of $750 is less than the cost of rescuing him, and he's totally worth it. He comes fully vetted -- neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines -- with a current health certificate and a microchip.

Check out what a fun and good girl Sadie is! She’s totally focused on instruction from a guy she hardly knows imagine how excited she’d be to trained by and perform for her very own person. She’d love to learn agility courses or doggy dancing or just fun tricks to show off how smart she is. We have no idea how such a well-behaved, healthy young girl ended up on the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter, but she did. Luckily we spotted her and got her out of there at the ...last minute. She’s mostly shepherd, don’t know what else, about 1 year old, and weighs 50 pounds, a perfect size. She adores people but not other dogs, and she needs to be an only pet. Just as well because she’s so bright and eager that she really should get all the attention to herself. She has a lot of energy to burn, and some doggy manners to learn, so her new home should have at least one person who will have lots of time to work with her to help her meet her amazing potential. She is soooo worth it! She’s still in Houston but will travel to Ontario in early April if she has an approved adopter. She will come spayed, fully vaccinated with a current health certificate, and a microchip. If you’re interested in Sadie, please send us a message to request an adoption survey. Her fee is $750.

Christine! We don’t know anything about her background. We only know she landed in the shelter and was so stressed out that she was scheduled to be euthanized. Luckily she was rescued at the last minute! She’s a Chinese Shar Pei mix, about 2 years old, and weighs 45 pounds a perfect size! She’s crate and leash trained. Still a bit timid, she warms up quickly and will blossom when she’s in a stable, loving environment and has the chance to build some confidence. She’s happy... to play with some dogs, but she can be a bit defensive with others; we suspect this is another manifestation of her insecurity. She’s curious, attentive, smart and treat motivated, so she’ll be easy to train. She also has super soft fur! Christine is still in Texas and if she finds her perfect home, she will travel to Ontario at the beginning of April. She comes spayed, fully vaccinated with a current health certificate, and a microchip. If you’re interested in Christine, please send us a message to request an adoption survey to see if you’re a good match! Her adoption fee is $750.

Simon. So soulful...with a silly side! Simon was about to be euthanized in a Houston shelter when he was rescued at the very last minute. He’d been a stray, and it’s clear he’d never been touched by a kind human hand. He was absolutely terrified. But we don’t see that as a reason to kill a dog that’s a reason to teach him to trust and love people. Simon is a one year old, 60lb black lab mix. He’s shy, so it takes him a little time to warm up. He’s learning to trust and how... to feel safe with people. Simon loves other dogs and is happy to play all day! He is crate trained but is still working on his leash walking skills. He is highly treat motivated, intelligent and easy to train...he just needs a patience as he works on gaining his confidence. He’s a young guy and is going to grow up to be the perfect dog, though at the moment he needs stability, structure and space to grow into his own. He is currently still in Texas but will be brought to Ontario early April. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and comes with a current health certificate and microchip. If you’re interested in applying to adopt Simon, please send us a message! Adoption fee: $750

This sweetheart is Onyx. She’s a young lab mix, maybe a year old, rescued off the streets of Houston the day before that winter storm they just had. She sure is grateful! She just loves everyone, human or canine. She’s happy, healthy and full of puppyish energy, eager to play and learn and be adored. We know nothing about her history; her caregiver thinks she was a street dog, but she hasn’t messed up her kennel once, and has been good on leash walks. She’s shown no issues of... any kind (hasn’t been tested with cats) she’s a good, sweet young pup ready to start living her best life in an active, loving home. Onyx weighs about 40 pounds. She’s spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. She will be arriving to Ontario from Texas in early April. Message us for an application! Adoption fee: $750

This is Bosco. He’s a 50 pound chocolate lab mix, between 1 and 2 years old, neutered, housebroken, crate-trained, fully vaccinated and microchipped. He is currently in Texas and looking for his best life in Ontario. He is affectionate and very playful, and all he wants is to be with his person. He’s mad for toys and a plastic ball will entertain him for hours. Of course he also loves his walks and car rides! He’s ok with other dogs as long as they tolerate his puppyish energ...y, and he cannot be adopted by a family with kids younger than 13. Bosco was a stray in Houston when he landed in a high-kill shelter, and after a few day found himself facing euthanasia. Luckily he was rescued at the last minute! His time in confinement did him no good, however, and he soon began acting out. His behavior was clearly a reaction to his unfortunate circumstances, so Bosco was sent to Sea Dog Training, where he got the chance to learn how to be a truly good boy. He has now successfully completed a 15-day course and graduated with flying colours! His perfect person is one with dog experience who will make the commitment to follow up with his training and all the hard work he’s put in to earn his Best Boy status. He still needs some guidance in managing his excitement and frustration threshold, and will need lots of activity and engagement. To ensure success in his new home, Bosco comes with a lifetime of remote training support under a Constant Contact plan, which means that for the rest of his life, his owner can reach out at any time for a professional consultation about any concerns that might arise as he settles into a new environment and advances through different life stages and circumstances. References, virtual home visit and $750 adoption fee required. Please DM for an application.

Meet super Stanley! Even though he’s still just a baby himself, his ex-owners got an even younger puppy and then kicked Stanley out when he got jealous. They dumped him at the shelter, where he was so upset and scared that no one wanted him. After a few days, his name was added to that horrible list of dogs to be killed the next day. But Stanley got lucky and was rescued at the last minute! We got lucky too, because we got Stanley. We think Stanley is about 7 months old, and ...since he did live in a home before, he could well be housebroken, we don’t know yet. What we do know is that he is absolutely beautiful. It’s a shame you can’t reach out and touch him because he is so soft! Highly intelligent, he is treat motivated and quick to learn. He’s also eager to please and sensitive to direction and correction. Stanley is affectionate, and loves to play with other dogs and kids, though it does take him a moment to acclimate to new surroundings. Once he’s comfortable, Stanley’s joyful personality absolutely shines. We think he is about 7 months old. He’s already 61 pounds! Maybe a mix of Black Mouth Cur and Belgian Malinois? Neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Our latest lucky rescue. She sure wasn't lucky when she was hit by a car earlier in the day, but she was lucky to taken to the shelter and lucky to be saved before they killed her. Now we're going to fix her up and make sure she never has to rely on luck ever again. We would REALLY appreciate your help to cover the costs so we can keep the good luck rolling for other dogs in the shelter. https://gofund.me/bf6f0553
