A couple of new entryways for a DIY assembly, in Yorkton. All plugs and fasteners pre installed, where it makes sense, the rest supplied for install. Rene and Neil, getting it done! Also pictures of the clear fir floor from a church built in 1947, some of the finest wood I have come across. The last 2 photos are of some past truss work, in Regina and Regina Beach

Here is a better picture of the finished pergola. Also typical recycled and moisture content of 9% is ideal for this part of the world. Trusses that are in need of lights... looking good! Floor, wall and ceiling from a country church that has basement damage beyond repair. Built in 1947 it has extremely nice Douglas Fir flooring, of which 1400 square-foot is for sale. Oh ya, we are looking for help in the shop and yard, please send resume to [email protected].

A pergola for a client that turned 40 yesterday. Many good days for the whole family. Spalted birch for a couple’s mantle. A a 9’ table to be a 5’ dining’s day 4’ coffee table. More yard slabs of Douglas fir, cut and being cut. A bald eagle on a BC Cedar, as I was leaving a few weeks ago. It is our goal to be sustainable and share this land with all species.

More 30’ Larch in the sunset. Got the Oldmill going again after a six-month hiatus and rebuild. Other shots of the week gone by.. Work to be assembled, delivered or picked up. Logs and milled material, both stacked with stickers for an air dry of 1-3 years, depending on thickness, species and if it was alive or standing dead when logged. I did buy parts of a barn west of Regina, which will be in the yard next week.

Some of the T&G milled from glue lam, up to 20 long, with face value of 6 after T&G. A couple of projects made by a couple of clients. Stair well and covered entry. Pictures of entries that were made a couple of years back with cedar soffits, posts and braces. I just couldnt drive by, without taking pictures and sharing. Thanks and enjoy, hopefully. We are gearing up for a rather busy fall, so if it is us and or dry wood that you need, call with a bit of lead time please.

Western Larch up to 18 wide, cleans up nice for pergola rafters, or should I say joists, for when the deck gets put on top. Lol...Also a 6+foot diameter popular from Regina, near Quinn Dr and Winnipeg St...It was a cranky 50 year old, like me. Wreaking havoc with pipes and electrical lines. It had to go, so we will try and do something with the massive nuggets in years to come. At a better point of work ability and indicators of how it wants to dry....Running on back to Lac Pelletier, installed some fir T&G, beams, privacy screen and trusses....And a couple of shots of another DYI, whom now has moved in. Congratulations all and Thanks too! Very Grateful.

Last Mountain Timber 12.09.2020

Amazing stock says one long time supportive client, of our clear Western Larch, in their cabinet doors. Also shots of a Moose Jaw builder and a builder from Saskatoon with there respective projects, that include stock that we sell. Dee and I grew some Sunflowers to fight the foo of our times, that have emerged as heroes. A garden for birds and bees. Our front gate is even harder to miss now. More to come next year.

Some of the Western Larch getting slabbed for a client that, said, I have driven by our 10 times and had no idea what you could do. My business has a limited advertising focus, but if you would like to have a look around, please send a message for appointments during our business hours (Monday-Thursday 7-5:30) or Friday and Saturday, if necessary. Dont continue to drive by, in other words. Also a set of fir 3x14treads on a metal mono stringer, in Regina.

More timber, boards and manufactured goods continue to go out the door. Recently I have recycled 50 Douglas fir glue laminated timbers up to, 7x32x 60, of course they can be cut to any size you may like. The were made in 1968 Vancouver. Amazing trees live inside. A picture of a resawn piece, before planing. Many applications for this stable timber. We welcome visiting. Our hours are Monday to Thursday 7-5:30, otherwise appointments are best, beyond those hours.

Last Mountain Timber 06.08.2020

Some goings on. Live edge fir, from dry stock, more available! Some non diseased Regina elm milled for its owner to dry and mill into casing and trim. Cedar order ready. Some birch. Fir glue ups for shelves, in a bathroom Reno. Continuing with great effort and stock. We are open to the public, with social distancing and a squirt of hand sanitizer on the way in and out.

It was a pleasure camping, lake side for a few nights, at Lac Pelletier, putting up these trusses and faux timbers with solid bracing, somewhat seamlessly, with the conventional framing. Hospitality of the area was welcomed and thanked. It will be a good day if I am able to find another job at Lac Pelletier with its resident pelicans, whom are not afraid to fly very close to you. So nice to watch them make a living, in the evening, after work.

Last Mountain Timber 29.06.2020

Some trusses going to a lake south of Swift Current. They will be in a lake house for a long time collaborating builder. More bread avec Red River cereal. As one bumper sticker said in B.C., I kiss my dog on the lips lol.. also a fire of scraps.. my old tree planting shovel, helping peel a log....more extraordinary western larch has arrived, that will be milled into 3.5 to dry for Stairworks and Tables possibly.

Last Mountain Timber 27.06.2020

Fischer checking out the incredible Western Larch in the sunset. Up to 18x18x30 available in consistent grain. A client came with a 10 wide trailer to pick up his timber frame. He is erect it with family and friends, in the coming weeks. Nothing out of the ordinary for a Canadian farmer. Dee finishing a table with non toxic OSMO wood wax oil, it is for sale. A client that used us and our wood for, timbers, casing and baseboards, invited me in to see the finish home. A relaxing space.

Last Mountain Timber 13.06.2020

I cant get enough of the smell of these little yellow flowers on the sage brush in our yard, rivals lilacs for aroma. Here are some orders going out and some timbers unsold, up to 18 x 18 x 30. Some Western Larch arrived with no knots in 30. Super Natural indeed. And yes I have become a binge baker of bread. And no, I am not the one hoarding the yeast supply. Timber on the other hand, I may have a problem lol

Last Mountain Timber 27.05.2020

More do, less promo, social media suffers, being busy. Grateful that my dream job is able to service needs enough to carry on in a good way. Various wood and things that are being served daily. A client made a hockey stick table with some live edge ash.

Last Mountain Timber 14.05.2020

Long time clients that call the beam and braces to their back yard entrance, as the cherry on top. We have both done design, supply and install or simply supply on some of the phases of development. They have created a private and family space of reprieve. That adds to the local and greater community. Thanks for the support, looks like home.

Last Mountain Timber 27.04.2020

Birch and recycled Fir continue to come alive in our shop. A timber frame started for a family up the lake, made from Hemlock and Spruce . Trees that I planted about 18 years ago, a Siberian Larch producing fresh cones.

Last Mountain Timber 21.04.2020

Order up! When I was a short order cook, this is what was shouted, to let the waitresses know. Cedar, birch and fir are our mainstays. The guys have had an incredible first two days back. We still see one person at a time. We have high hopes of not closing completely and not spreading or picking up the virus. Keep smiling and remain vigilant or get some of each, damn it. Take care. We are in a good spot, lets not blow it. Firewood and top soil available for the season. Please contact us, if you are in need of either.

Last Mountain Timber 10.04.2020

Starting to warm up a bit now. Tables on Tap, with recycled fir or pine joists, from a warehouse last fall. We sell pieces to anyone or can do a glue up for you to finish, if you wish. They are 2.5x12x up to 14. That said we can cut up to 33 long and have other options, but this is a good value option, that you wouldnt be disappointed with.

Last Mountain Timber 30.03.2020

A few 1x16x 20+ were needed in an cladding order in Saskatoon. A heavily de-nailed post for home builder and consistent supporter of LMT. Stair package for someone to install in Kronau, Sk.. An order of 5.5x 11 timber for a Garage in Regina area. Some faux posts, waiting a for this virus to settle down a bit.... We are not installing, at this point, but if you are looking for wood, Dee and I will price it out and produce. Thanks to all that have and still find LMT worth a query, or a look at distance. We are taking precautions in these times and hope you are too. See more

Last Mountain Timber 19.03.2020

We are closed to the public for another two weeks. That said Dee and I are quarterbacking smaller timber orders. Some shots of de-nailed grey timber ready for the mill and some planed that were used in a new build in Waskesiu.

Last Mountain Timber 13.03.2020

A cedar rail and spindle order, for a contractor to install. Some replacement slabs are dry and some very fresh. A recycled fir 1x10 off cut from a 10x10x16. I am feeling lucky that the whole shop smells of cedar! Dee and I remain vigilant to this virus. May we all find the right care and patience needed, making it bearable.

Last Mountain Timber 01.03.2020

A happy customer sent some pictures the other day, Thanking us for the work we were able to do for their family. Looks like a good room to dance a pandemic away! Last Mountain Timber is now closed to the public, until further notice! We are taking it week by week. Employees are all laid off. Seems like more than a video, is going viral. We will communicate by phone, email or text, but may not book appointments until April 6th, pending a better position in the Human vs. Virus. Godspeed to finding a sustainable out come. Do something new or something that you wanted to do. Good things will come of this too! Take Care.

Last Mountain Timber 14.02.2020

A friend of mine sent another article that he calls porn. Lol.. These public spaces are probably empty of people, but in a time that there may be more listening and reading, here is something that may be interesting to read? Keep healthy, damn it! Stay isolated, if you can, keep your advised distance, wash yourself and obvious surfaces, generally help influence a good out come, during this particular part of history, that is now. Take a step back and enjoy being alive. https://architizer.com//the-future-of-architecture-timbe/ As my Dad would say, when he was alive, Its good to be alive.

Last Mountain Timber 25.01.2020

Handrails and newel posts for a stair in a log house at Good Spirit Lake. Also some grey timber in stock and a funny picture, that I am sure a couple more people may get a laugh.

Last Mountain Timber 21.01.2020

Please keep your nose and hands clean with proper method and product. We are certainly trying to do it clean, so please feel at ease to come by. If you feel ill, please wait or send requests electronically. We will keep the proper distance and are disinfecting possible transmission areas. We are confident that the shop will be running next week, but will follow advice from WHO and the governments and respectable media points, as their precautions may change. The birch top wi...th 12extensions that will he stored until needed. A rustic fir table top and a couple of mantles. Also a picture of Dees Grandpa hauling logs, back in the day. The picture is on our showroom mantle, was taken in Renata, BC.. The town site is under the water of Lower Arrow Lake, near where the Renata River now empties into the now much deeper Lower Arrow Lake, because of a circuit of dams.

Last Mountain Timber 18.01.2020

Another birch top, at 6% moisture content. 2x48x 8 top that is to be used mostly 48x 6, with 12 extensions on either side, for company beyond the 4x6 capacity. Finished pictures to come.

https://mountainculturegroup.com/spearhead-wooden-skyscra/ Spearhead Timber Works is a company I worked for, briefly about 20 years ago. I have always looked up to them. Amazing focus, evolving team, ambitious and unhindered vision. I had started Last Mountain Timber at that point and knew it was what I needed to do next. No regrets, it was nice to learn and brush shoulders with giants. Enjoy the article.

From wall and ceiling covering to drawer and door fronts, jacket boards from our mill add to any room. Kyle and Sophia have spent two days in a row culling and sorting for width, before we rip crisp edges and plane the back face even. A home builder from Regina, said that the grey/ recycled look is in, I said that I have been waiting him, for 21 years! Lol aside, we have the bonafide article, when you are ready.

Last Mountain Timber 02.11.2019

Introducing Happiness. This is our in house, engineered 3/4 x 7 1/8x 4-8 long Birch T&G.. it has been in the making for a year and a half. Last Mountain Timber 25.10.2019

I bought an Aerial 2012 shot of our yard, last week. The top right shows #54 highway at about the 15km mark, after the only bend in this prairie highway that ends in Regina Beach. Google earth shows us now with our shop and our present yard stock. Here are a couple of shots of timber that are immediately around the shop. Recycled Fir has been our mainstay, but have at least a dozen Canadian species to choose from. When you are ready, we are ready to serve you some of the best wood that ever has grown on this continent.

Last Mountain Timber 21.10.2019
