I'd love to know, do you read captions? I often write longer ones to really describe my work and the inspiration behind it, because storytelling has become an important element that drives my work. This detail shot of the coral on the Ursula corset is one of several I have on a blog post (link in the comments will take you there), along with some of my inspirations for this piece, for the detail nerds like me. I'm sorry I haven't been posting here recently; for the most part, continuing to work and document what I'm doing for my supporters and client is all I can manage right now (I am doing that over on my page on P). Here are some details of the anemones added to the coral for movement on Ursula. All the coral will be stitched on today, with the many types of bling to come next.

"Longest Day's End" This is by far my very favourite of the pictures I took of Lucy's Corsetry on the summer solstice last year. It was my first time shooting with my big girl camera and we shot until the magic of the sun was gone. She looks so fierce and powerful here, like Galadriel ruling over her forest queendom. The framing might seem strange, but there's something about her being off to the left that just works for me. I entered Willow in the Foundations Revealed conte...st for the first time, which is now live! I'm very excited and honestly nervous to be a part of it, but have so much on the go with CoutUrsula right now that I have little space in my brain for much else other than go!go!go! It was a big week of reveal posts! Here is a teaser video of Lucy's Corsetry behind the scenes modelling Weeping Willow. There's also a sneak peek at one of the *four* finished images that will trickle out shortly, but you can see them all today if you follow me on the P. ;) I'm really looking forward to making more of these videos, and I shot a lot of the making of process. When commission crunch time is over, it'll be fun to compile them all in a longer video.

Details of my test layout for Coutursula. While I only meant to make a small tester piece of the coral to experiment with the duochrome/chameleon finish, I got a bit carried away. But as it's almost exactly the right size for the finished piece, it's a wonderful guide for laying out the rest of the sparkly things, and if you can believe it, not all of them are even pictured here! The beads in the second picture will mostly be added to the skirt. I'm super excited about getting to the embellishment stage, but I will need to the the challenging binding first, which is rarely the order I go about things. #corsetry #embellishment #latelierdelafleur #lafleurcorsetry
