An afternoon of handcrafted paper experimenting with wild boreal botanicals and recycled egg cartons. A great activity for the little ones! Nothing like making a mess and creating something beautiful. The Arctic cotton seed fibers didn’t bind on their own but with the addition of recycled paper maybe... the 100% cattail seeds also turned out more like a soft gauze but blended with egg carton turned out fantastic. How did you celebrate Valentine's Day? At GirlSpace, we celebrated "PAL"entine's Day with some fantastic self-care and learning experiences! Both Junior and I...ntermediate GirlSpace groups got to experience a wonderful workshop by local business Laughing Lichen Wildcrafted Herb & Tea. You may remember seeing over the Holidays that Laughing Lichen generously donated their handcrafted items to go in our youth care packages, so we were thrilled to have them come in to show us just how these products are made. Amy & Liz taught the youth about harvesting botanicals, the medicinal property of plants, and how to make their own bath soaks/scrubs and lip balms. They also treated us to some delicious homemade cookies and their handcrafted teas, which were a big hit. The youth were able to show off their imagination and creativity by selecting the botanicals & scents, naming, and creating labels for their products! Check out some of the photos we captured

Fired up the ol’ 92 Lynx and spent last weekend at our families cabin 30 Minutes drive from Laughing Lichen headquarters. Took about 6 hrs before the cabin was warmed up enough to remove the snowsuits but Gotsa, Wren and I enjoyed every minute of our trip. While warning up we enjoyed Cozy Campfire tea. A mom, daughter and dog weekend in the bush.
