Snow Kissed what started to be a quick little painting ended up taking much longer as it needed many layers of snow to get the opacity and brightness I was trying to capture. Inspired by the incredible winter wonderland we’ve been experiencing here. #winterwonderland #fernieartist #fernieartstreak2021 @fernieartsstation #intotheforest #natureinspires #naturenutures #gratitude #ferniestoke

I recently had the honour of being Guest Currator for the Fernie Museum, tasked with arranging and presentation of their current exhbit entitled "Fabrics of History- Untangling the Ancient Arts of Spinning, Weaving, Knitting & Felting" by the Fernie Spinners & Weavers Guild. The exhibit is woven with an appreciation for histories & traditions associated with these fibre arts, and focuses on materials, processes, skills and personal expression of Guild members, revealing how... various processes turn natural fibres into functional and beautiful objects. The exhibit includes a short film put together by the talented Nick Nault Photography called "Barn to Blanket" featuring the processess of Fernie's Master Spinner and Weaver Gayle Vallance. Exhibit is open 11-4pm Thursdays to Sundays until end of January. Masks and other protocols are mandatory. A Must See! This Chautauqua event is made possible by a grant from Governement of Canada
