M O N D A Y M O O D

Hello Saturday. I’ve been working on a couple of small DIY projects around my own place this week but today I’m taking a moment to sit down, enjoy a cup of coffee and RELAX! How do you like to relax?

Sharing another before and after today from a Kelowna townhouse project and once again we’ve taken a dark space and brightened it up. I often hear from clients that they are afraid to paint all white because they are afraid of the space feeling too clinical or sterile. It’s all about choosing the right white for the lighting of your space and adding soft textures and warm wood tones to get a space that feels bright and cozy! @ Kelowna, British Columbia

Here’s the other side of the bedroom we shared the other day. In s book I keep on my desk there’s a headline - Limitations encourage creativity. This could not have been more true with this project. With a tight budget, tight timeline and a fairly small footprint we definitely had our work cut out for us. Should look inspired by California, but not out of place in East Van. Who says small spaces can’t have big personalities?! Okay, maybe no one did say that but we’re pretty happy with how much style we’ve managed to squeeze in to this small bathroom that we’re designing. What do you think? @ Kelowna, British Columbia

B E F O R E + A F T E R This dark bedroom desperately needed a refresh, on a budget. We selected a gorgeous wool/yak blend carpet for a natural, comfortable organic base for the room. We brightened up the whole room with Benjamin Moore’s Simply White on all the walls, ceiling and trim in various sheens. It has just the right amount of warmth so every morning feels like a sunny one... which is a great feeling if you live in Vancouver... even if it only lasts a minute! @ Vancouver, British Columbia
