INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY - #choosetochallenge #iwd2021 - A SOCIAL & POLITICAL WORLD IN THE MIDST OF THE MOST UNPREDICTABLE TIMES & A LOT ON THE MIND I have been spending time late into the eve at a loss for words. YES, me at a loss for words. I’ve been reflecting a lot about this years theme; a challenge for individual action as a collective responsibility. Here come the words...I’ve been sifting through so much inspirational content, while in awe of the humans who i...nspire me on the regular. This means family, friends, community members, colleagues, renowned thought leaders, brave voices and even more perhaps the unexpected strangers plugging away who may not realize just how much they are seen. From the frontline workers putting themselves out there to the human at the drive through serving coffee. You may not have a choice to be doing what you’re doing right now, but I see you! With hands up, I can say hands down, this is a revolution and call to action for ALL. I am a woman who continues to speak up and act on women’s rights. The thing is, when it comes to any area of inequality, we are fundamentally fighting for the same thing. We are LOVING our hearts out for the same thing. HUMAN equality. Among the quiet within the noise, I have reacquainted on deeper levels with my passion for human rights and justice. International women’s day isn’t just about women (as we rightfully celebrate). Like every fight out there for freedom, it takes a diverse collective shift. Example: as I watch my son sleep I am acutely aware of my role to raise a boy who will know how to treat women; ALL people with dignity; to celebrate differences, while looking through a lens that doesn’t know how to discriminate. Is this a tall order? Yes! How do we get there? One moment at a time a followed by another; individually and together. I hold my hand very high when I say I can’t help but stand with you. It’s time we choose to live and win together over personal agendas. This has never worked. We DO rise by lifting others and we all can take responsibility in our part. TY everyone who have lifted my spirit tonight. May every day celebrate and shine on a greater good. See more

What a joy to watch Malcolm engaged as he watched my friend @goswish talk at @ted in 2018 on the topic of storytelling and connection. We live in such an overly submerged and diluted culture within an evolving digital world. This isn’t news to anyone. I see and listen as we all ponder and adapt. Watching Swish was a welcomed reminder to me of all the good there is in the platforms and tools we ha...ve, as was it a healthy eye-opener to my growing kiddo. STORY TELLING AND IDEAS - This is a late night post for me these days on a Sunday eve. The story of this still from a video about a year ago today is as follows. Aside from being on a ski trip together, Malcolm and I had one of our talks on the chairlift about dreams and ideas; one of which for him is to tell his stories via YouTube. He started at 5-years-old and has gravitated to it being able to tell his stories in his own way. You may have heard him on the streets... asking you to subscribe. Fast forward a year and on his own accord, @minecraftmalcolm told me it was time to rebrand as @pixel8plays. Mummy I love Minecraft, but I love many things and I think this name will help cover this. We had to work around some word play to get the exact fit, but you bet kid! As a parent, I am often speaking to the importance of joining our kid’s world rather than always asking them to fit in to ours our a specific shape the structure of our education system creates. He’s put in the work with a lot of help we are blessed with and I am proud of his dedication. Think big mummy, think HUGE. You got it kid!
