The sun is shining, bulbs are poking their heads out of the ground. The air is filled with birdsong. There are robins everywhere. I can't recall seeing so many ...in our area in the spring. We've watered the beds and left some debris for nest building. We've even hung pieces of string on branches for their use. Spring is such a wonderful time of year!

On our morning walk yesterday Gabby (my studio assistant) and I discovered this beautifully decorated rock. It was placed intentionally where it could be seen and enjoyed by all who walked that path. Gabby and I just did a walk about the yard looking for signs of spring bulbs poking through the ground. The beds are in the shade and still quite wet with no signs yet. I'm hoping for sun this weekend so that the beds dry and I can start the spring cleaning. I thought I'd share a glimpse of a panel that I will be using for my next painting. I have collaged decorative papers onto the panel and then several layers of soft colours using stamps and other mark making tools. Knowing that I will add daffodils and tulips onto this panel I chose to keep the colours soft and delicate. I also want to save some of the paper with hints of daffodils.
