Home is our safe place. Here’s what’s happening in Real Estate as we head back into full Lockdown: 1. Real Estate is deemed an essential business, but it is not business as usual. Realtors are advised to limit their activities (particularly in-person activities) to only those that are essential. An example of an essential activity may be that someone has already sold their home, and needs to purchase a home so that they will have somewhere to move to. There may be man...y reasons, and you can speak with a realtor to determine if your situation is deemed essential. 2. Scheduled in-person showings are allowed, but should only be used in urgent situations. Buyers and their representatives should be using all virtual means prior to booking in-person showings in order to limit unnecessary showings. All buyers and their representatives provide a COVID disclosure for each showing booked. 3. For scheduled in-person showings, masks must be worn at all times, including in outdoor public spaces. Hands should be cleaned and sanitized before and after the showing. No overlapping showings with other groups of buyers are permitted. 4. In-person showings are limited to the buyer’s realtor representative and only those listed on title for the purchase, and a maximum of two people plus the realtor representative. Plus, there are two additional State of Emergency restrictions pertaining to short-term rentals and renovations: 1. Short-term rentals for recreational purposes are effectively closed as of January 12th, 2021. If a booking was made prior to January 12th it is permitted to go forward. 2. Renovations started before January 12th will be permitted to continue but those that have not started are not permitted to start. The government has not indicated when the new measures will be lifted. If you find yourself in a situation that is essential to trade in real estate at this time (whether selling or buying), be sure to hire a representative who will take all possible precautions. Today’s Happy Healthy Women meetup called Authentically Connecting, versus last year’s January meetups (swipe), and the last photo is the very first meetup I ever attended, 2 years ago! Firstly, today was pretty profound and felt so positive and it was truly so nice to see and talk with these amazing women. So grateful to know and have met each of them! We all miss meeting each other in person, but this community is staying strong through these challenging times, through ...the power of community itself... and a little help from Zoom and social media of course. Isolation is hard, so be sure to tap into community wherever you can. Even though it’s not the same, it still fills the soul, and it goes to show the power of connecting with others - even on the computer it can really change things. As a Trailblazer for @happyhealthywomen (one such leadership opportunity, which has impacted my career and LIFE in a positive way), I am confident I can speak for us when I say: We always love to welcome new women to our community @happyhealthywomen and there are lots of branches, such as ours at @hhw_kitchener .
