Sadly, due to multiple parcels of ours currently unaccounted for in the postal system, we are opting to close down our business TEMPORARILY. This means no new listings, and no items will be sold and shipped for the time being. It's a hard decision to make, especially around this time of year, but we feel that we can not continue to chance putting our customer's items in the mail again until whatever is going wrong in shipping is put right again. If you are currently awaiting... a parcel from us, please know that we are absolutely on top of tracking it, and will be opening up an insurance claim for your items as soon as it is allowed within the Postal System time constraints. Not a single customer will lose a dime of their monies, that is assured, however we know that this is of minimal consolation for those who wanted the items that you had purchased. We are so very sorry. Thank you for supporting our business and all small businesses this holiday season. Laura & Family
With Christmas coming (sigh, too soon) I am doing my best to keep adding fresh inventory to all three shops. If you haven't lately, click on the links to see what's been added recently! https://www.rubylane.com/shop/lifeintheknife https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/laurahowdendiesigns... https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/lifeintheknife
Only the coolest things come from the North. ;-)
After a decade & a half in the antique jewelry business, I've developed a bit of a backlog. (That may be an understatement.) It's auction time!!! https://www.ebay.com/str/lifeintheknife/?LH_Auction=1

This lovely Art Deco era (c. 1930) Irish silver brooch had but one flaw - a missing piece of Connemara marble. Unfortunately, this is not a stone I commonly stock, so this piece became a key candidate for reworking. It tends to be a lengthy process (especially with silver), but reworking can make a piece of beloved but outdated or damaged jewelry a treasure once more. This particular set will be up for bids at the upcoming St. Patrick's Day Party here in Melfort, Saskatchewan. All proceeds to benefit the Melfort Business Revitalization Corporation.
Check out the latest additions to the shop. And more to come over the next few days! https://www.rubylane.com/shop/lifeintheknife/ilist?since=1
I've been *busy busy busy* adding inventory to the stores (while the spouse has been *busy busy busy* shovelling snow outside). Peruse my latest additions when you aren't up to your necks in snowdrifts yourselves. https://www.rubylane.com/shop/lifeintheknife/ilist?since=30 https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/lifeintheknife
So, to further muddy the waters, I've opened up a FOURTH online shop. This one is just for the one of a kind pieces that I've made out of the jewellery remnants that have pilled up over my last few years of dealing in antique & vintage jewellery. It's still new, so items are getting added as I have time. My goal (which may be lofty) is to add one handmade piece every week. ... Check it out! https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/LauraHowdenDiesigns
Argon! I got me some argon! (So I can finally do my welding again.) Happy, happy times.
Monchie claims she is helping me sort and assess the stick pins. Monchie tells lies.
