Now that's done, I can put all my contraptions away and start crocheting! Every finished product I turn out has a process behind it. Some of it is as simple as running to the store to grab a colour I need to do something. Others are more complicated like this one with a custom colour choice where I order it and when it arrives, work with it to ball it/cake it so I am able to make the desired project. All of us crafters out there work hard to turn out quality products for our... customers to enjoy. Going through the pictures. First I set up all the contraptions to get things going. On the left, I fondly refer to it as my "yarn umbrella" since the green parts spread up like one. What this is for is to wrap the yarn hank around so that you can use the contraption on the right "yarn baller" more smoothly and with less to no tangles in the process. The second picture you can see I put the yarn up onto my yarn umbrella. Once it's up there I spin it around and check and see ...if there's anything stopping the yarn from pulling off freely. There are usually small strands of yarn used to tie it so it doesn't unravel in stores or in packaging and get tangled. They can turn into a big mess real quick. Sometimes the strands are hard to find but once you get used to it, it goes pretty quick. The third picture I pulled an end off the hank to thread through the "eye" of the yarn baller and pressed it into a slit in the top of the yarn baller so it holds it. Then once I start to crank the handle, the yarn baller will spin and pull yarn off the yarn umbrella!

Raffle winner from last month chose her yarn from @ravenswood_fibres early last week and it got here! I am so excited to start working with it and get it turned into a hat for her! I took a few more days than I expected, but I am back working on projects and getting things done. Have a few plans for the upcoming months and I am excited to see where it takes me. After finishing up my current order I'm working through, I am going to be taking a break over the next week.
