If you missed it last week I posted a video on how I paint this Bleeding Heart on YouTube (Laura Watson Art). I've been managing to keep up with one YouTube video per week, which was my goal for 2021. Although it is not always easy ... lol. Factoring in painting a botanical painting start to finish, filming it, editing the video, adding voice over and then exporting and posting, I think all together it takes me about 8-12 hours to make one 15 min long video! But I love the... entire process of creating them :) I just got some new filming equipment so I am hoping to share my work with you all at a better camera angle now. My hand often gets in the way of seeing the details close up, but not anymore! I have a few more pre-filmed videos to post before the new and improved footage will be posted. In project one learn how to paint loose watercolor roses to create a block letter design. In project 2 I show you how to create the word love out of leaves and roses. It's been a busy last 6 months for me, reposting some paintings from my 50 watercolor flowers series today. I have been yearning to create and paint again, at last I have a week off (from my full time day job) and so I will pick up my paint brush again! I'm think the next painting I will do in the series will be Hellebore. 2020 was a whirlwind for me, with starting a new job, the pandemic, getting married, going back to university, and due to all the stress of the above mentioned finally finding some tools to use to help address my chronic pain issues. That's one of the reasons I have not painted or made YouTube videos lately. However I'm doing much better and look forward to sharing more with you in 2021.

New sketchbook work, inspired by Edith Holden's A Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady. Blackberries and horse chestnut branch ...trying to sneak some painting in between writing papers since I'm back at university AGAIN! One of these days I will get my degree.
