These twin side tables did not last long in the shop! They were sold within a couple of days of being posted. When they came to the shop via my nephew, they had been previously painted by someone else who had not done a very good job. Pretty much they had slapped some paint on, left some paint off, and basically made them look terrible. My first opinion was that they were beyond help, however, when something comes my way, I am learning to look with different eyes... The be...autiful thing about chalk paint, is that you can paint right over top of the previous finish, with very little prep. A good cleaning and a light sand, and they were ready for another go. It has been awhile since I have introduced myself, and so here I am.... My name is Suzanne McKinley...Laurel is my middle name, which in the original meaning has to do with transformation, and being that is what I love to do, that is where I landed for the name Laurel’s Loft. A little history about me...I left the wedding and events industry in order to start this business of repurposing furniture, and collecting a smattering of treasures old and new to display with them.... My husband of 5 years, has me to this day in his phone as Suzanne the paint. He did this prior to even dating me, as I did some painting for him one summer...he couldn’t fit painter in, so he left me as the paint. I have over the years painted many things including a fire rated pole in a public school. In case you don’t know what that is, it is the pole that stays standing when everything else does not. The paint thickness has to be measured and tested by an engineer to pass, and mine passed with flying colours. I think that makes me an expert lol! I have two amazing grown children, who make me very proud to be their mama, and one little , who has me wrapped around his little paw! Although I do enjoy a good cup of tea, my favourite things to sip are a cup of coffee in the morning, and some wine in the evening... The most challenging part of this journey so far, has been learning to use social media...my favourite part is always working on a piece. I am looking forward to the day that we can open more freely and get to know each other in a more relaxed manner. Maybe work on a piece together...

Hey guys, I realize that I didn’t give you much information about how and when to pick up some of this fabulous paint... As I live very close to my shop, I am able to be very flexible with pick up times, just DM me and I can certainly set something up that works for both of us. I am also happy to chat with you over the phone, or through DM if you have any questions, or need help with your selection...don’t hesitate to reach out!

Here we are in another stay-at-home order... it helps that the weather is getting warmer and brighter, but there are only so many walks that you can go on and drives in the country...if that’s your thing.
