This is unchartered water we’re in and there is no right way to be. We have enormous emotional capacity as humans, we can hold extreme disappointment at the same time as hope for a different future. Hold space for opening buds and whistling winds to remind you of the freedom that still exists. ... #spring #hope #joedispenza #freedom #happyeaster #stouffville #emotionalcapacity #psychotherapy #psychotherapyonline See more

There is no endpoint when we feel we have or have experienced all of the things we want in life. Knowing that, is there any way you can feel more at ease right now? Sitting with the eternal incompletion, the eternal becoming of who you are. Hoping you have some stillness and some deep belly laughs this weekend ... @megelizabethlow #healing #psychotherapy #wellbeing #freedom #mindfulness #abrahamhicks #mentalwellness #intuition #wanderer #selfcompassion #stouffville #yyz #selfhealing #selfawareness See more

It’s been a whole year of this pandemic now, and you might be feeling exhausted Out of steam and a little in need of some hope. If you had an emotionally exhausted child in front of you, how would you take care of them?... This is probably how it would look. You would: Give them a healthy snack See if they were in need of a nap Speak gently to them Be understanding if they were in a bit of a cranky mood, knowing it would pass when they were rested If this is the compassionate way you’d instinctively treat a child who was feeling exhausted, why would you push yourself further into burnout? Speak to yourself gently and be accepting if you’re not able to do as much as you normally can. You’ve just lived through a year of a pandemic, and I think you’re doing a hell of a job friend #pandemic #healing #psychotherapy #wellbeing #selfcare #freedom #mindfulness #burnout #mentalwellness #compassion #selfcompassion #stouffville #yyz #selfhelp #selfhealing #selfawareness by @cutraras_kitchen See more

I often get a blank stare from people when I say this: YOU ALREADY HAVE ALL THE WISDOM YOU NEED INSIDE YOU If you heard that, you’d probably think, Well, why am I seeking out your expert opinion then? And I totally understand that response.... Society conditions us to feel like we don’t have the answers on our own. We don’t feel good enough as is so we try new diets, buy newest phones, buy the books to fix the problems, etc. There is nothing wrong with these things individually, but we feel this constant need to reach for EXTERNAL sources to solve our problems. You Have This Miraculous Depth of Wisdom Inside You That You Take With You Wherever You Go. I love helping clients reach realizations that are buried deep within them. I repeat back what they say and they can barely believe that those words came out of them. The secret to accessing this is to practice getting quiet on a regular basis, quiet enough to hear this inner wise voice Try this: Ask a question that has been bothering you Do 3 minutes of deep breathing (set a timer) Write a letter to yourself from your inner wise self Let me know how it goes! #healing #psychotherapy #wellbeing #anxietyawareness #freedom #mindfulness #innerwisdom #mentalwellness #intuition #wanderer #selfcompassion #stouffville #yyz #selfhelp #selfhealing #selfawareness See more

I’m excited to share this with you! For every client I see in December, I’ll be donating $2 Despite this being the holidays this is actually a dark time of need for so many people in the world. ... I’m lucky to have the support that I need and I’m excited to continue that momentum by sharing it with others. There are a huge number of issues happening in the world that could use the support, so I’m going to take the next couple of weeks to narrow down the charities I’m considering donating to. I’ll probably take a poll from you to see which charity resonates the most. The money is coming from the community and going right back. If you have favourite charities, please share them with me in a DM. I’d love to hear more about movements your hearts are invested in. #healing #psychotherapy #wellbeing #holidays2020 #mindfulness #mentalwellness #destress #selfcompassion #stouffville #yyz #markham #yorkregion #donationdecember #giving See more

Where are all the over-thinkers at? Over-thinking and ruminating are way more common issues than you think. You’re absolutely not alone. Of all the people I’ve worked with, I’ve never seen the drill sergeant, strict method work as a way of decreasing overthinking. ... Have compassion for yourself. The gentle way is in my opinion the only way at arriving at a quieter mind. Thank your brain for the thoughts that are coming up. After all, your brain is only on high alert to try to protect you. It can sometimes be a bit of a helicopter parent though Thank it and use that thank you as a reminder to divert to something that you really do want to think about. Something that lights you up and makes you feel really good about yourself. #healing #psychotherapy #wellbeing #anxietyawareness #mindfulness #rumination #mentalwellness #destress #selfcompassion #stouffville #yyz #markham #yorkregion #overthinking See more

Are you working at home because of the current restrictions? This is a new situation for a lot of people, and not everyone’s home is set up very well for working from home. I’ve heard so many clients share how difficult it is to work, cook, eat, sleep, and relax all in the same space.... I find this to be a wild statistic Between 40-95% of all human behaviour is habitual. How many of the actions you take in a day are based on what seems normal from the day before? This is hopeful news! This means that each day you have new opportunities to try out new actions. Listen to your needs in a way you haven’t before. Give yourself rest. Connect with someone on a deeper level than you ever have. ... Even if one small thing shifts so that you’re more present for your life and understanding where you find the most meaning, that’s a huge win #healing #psychotherapy #wellbeing #anxietyawareness #joedispenza #mindfulness #SAD #mentalwellness #intuition #wanderer #destress #selfcompassion #stouffville #yyz #markham #yorkregion See more

So much of the chaos of 2020 is out of your control Normally, when problems arise in life, we feel comforted by being able to take action to make things better. Even if we don’t know when they’ll get better, taking small actions feels like we have a sense of control over the situation. It’s so easy to feel stuck and overwhelmed this year, because we don’t know when this will all end, or what things will look like when it’s over. And it’s a complex set of issues imp...acting the entire world. It’s hard to feel like one person can have any impact on such a large set of issues. Rather than focusing on what’s happening in the world, lean into your own sense of trust. The feeling of trust can increase your personal sense of hope and optimism. And research has proven that people who are optimistic live longer, healthier lives. These skills can be trained! So don’t worry if you’re a negative Ned So..what can you trust in, in the mids of all of this chaos? Trust in your ability to make decisions when things get challenging Trust in the support of people you love. Reach out to make new connections if you don’t currently have these people in your life Trust in your resilience, and the knowledge of challenges you’ve overcome before Trust in your ability to take care of yourself Trust in our ability as humans to overcome complex world issues Trust that the softer side of yourself is needed right now, not the hard shell. Give gently to yourself and people around you. Allow this sense of trust to fill you and fuel your decisions, rather than fear. Choose to shift where you’re placing your focus, each day. @megelizabethlow #healing #psychotherapy #wellbeing #anxietyawareness #joedispenza #mindfulness #SAD #mentalwellness #2020 #intuition #wanderer #destress #selfcompassion #stouffville #yyz #markham #yorkregion #artiesebymeg See more
