It’s important to be able to evolve with the times

COVID-19 UPDATE The province has now extended the closure of all non-essential businesses an extra 2 weeks, ending April 28th. As it is quite likely for another extension to be put in place following this initial closure I will not be opening my books at this time. If we can’t work, we LEARN! Here’s a fascinating article I just read that talks about how ice is actually detrimental to the healing process and interrupts our bodies natural system of repair after injury. WHO WOULDA THUNK IT?! That’s the thing about science - it’s not that the answer is changing constantly but rather we are learning and evolving past our rudimentary explanations for things and finding more advanced (or sometimes simplified) answers to questions we thoug...ht we had already completed. You can choose to stick with the outdated knowledge and provide a less effective level of care or you can roll with the punches and educate people so that they are able to heal and mobilize most effectively. As stated in my previous post from only 1 hour ago, things can and will develop rapidly regarding COVID-19. I have just recently been informed that all RMT’s in Manitoba are to close immediately for a minimum duration of 2 weeks. While I agree with this request, it is important to note that failure to comply will negate my liability insurance coverage and legal action could be taken against me if an issue were to arise during that period or practice. All upcoming appointments for the remainder of March have been cancelled. Let’s hope April looks better for us all. Stay safe, everyone

Valued clientele, I have made the difficult but absolutely necessary decision to close my business, for the time being, in light of COVID-19. I believe it is the responsibility of us all to do whatever necessary in an attempt to flatten the curve. Unfortunately, that means limiting all non-essential physical contact. I would always rather be overly cautious and find out I’ve taken unnecessary preventative measures than to regret not having done so once it is too late. Espe...cially when those precautions can be the difference between life and death. If you have an appointment booked for this week, ending March 20th, I will be cancelling your appointment at this time. As things can drastically change in a matter of days I will be making future cancellations, anything booked after the 20th, on a day to day basis as things develop. If you would like to cancel your upcoming appointment you may do so at any time. If, once I am open again, you need to make a last minute cancellation due to illness please notify me via text or email and your cancellation fee will be waived. I look forward to being able to see you all again soon and I thank you for your understanding.

In order to maintain the health and safety of both myself and my clients I am asking anyone who has recently travelled out of province to wait at least 14 days from the date of returning before booking an appointment. If this seems unnecessary to you please keep in mind that my livelihood greatly depends on my ability to continue practicing each day and many of my clients are immunocompromised individuals whose lives could be at risk if exposed to any illness, let alone COVID-19. As always, I am taking all necessary steps to keep my space sanitized and safe but I can only do so much. Please stay home if you are feeling unwell and we can look at rebooking when you are once again healthy!

PRICE ADJUSTMENTS Please be aware that as of January 1, 2020 I will be increasing the cost of all Massage Therapy treatments. I have done my best to maintain reasonable pricing thus far and will continue to do so going forward. However, with the increasing cost of rent and supplies, as well as the continued education necessary to constantly be providing you the best quality of care, I am unable to keep my prices frozen any longer. Given that most clinics increase pricing o...n a annual or bi-annual basis, and most of my pricing was last updated in January 2017, this adjustment is a necessary evil. Changes are as follows: 30 Minutes - $50.00 ($47.62 + GST) 45 Minutes - $65.00 ($61.90 + GST) 60 Minutes - $80.00 ($76.19 + GST) 90 Minutes - $110.00 ($104.76 + GST) I greatly appreciate your business and hope to see you back on my table soon!
