I was so thrilled when my client wanted to go ahead with these 2 beautiful Arne Vodder for Bovirke collector arm chairs. Mint mid century condition, the teak frame is gorgeous as is the patina of the original leather upholstery. What you can’t tell about these is that the back rest actually tilts when you sit in them making them very special! These beauties came all the way from Scandinavian Mod in Winnipeg to our small town in the mountains of Alberta

There are thousands of places to order machine made, mass produced rugs but have you ever thought about bringing one into your home that’s unique and has soul? These hand knotted rugs, whether vintage or new are beautiful in their own imperfect way. It may sound scary and expensive but it doesn’t have to be. A few Canadian shops to check out have curated collections Rug & Weave WoodbineVintage KIT & LOOM or you can go down the rabbit hole that is Etsy where I found this one. It showed up within a week straight from Turkey and I’m in love

Oh hello! This is the little ground floor entry up to the barn loft I had the pleasure of working on. It was a pretty boring square box so to give it a little life we added inexpensive beadboard detailing to go with the brick style tile floor - perfect finishes for a hardworking space! To gain some storage we brought in wardrobes from IKEA in a gorgeous sage green and finished it all off with a fun mat, chalkboard, and hooks from Wayfair. Now this little space shines!

I have literally hundreds of beautiful photographs of my past projects by the uber talented miss Tracey Jazmin, Photographer that I have not shared. We’ll be photographing some new ones soon which has got me to thinking... I realize what often holds me back from posting consistently is the job of coming up with a clever caption or some in depth nugget of information. So I would really love to hear what info you most appreciate designers to share about their images. Are looking only at the picture and not bothering with the text? Are you interested in the background of a project, info about suppliers, or a design tip? Would love to hear!

Such a great feature on Folding Mountain Brewing

Congrats to Folding Mountain Brewing on opening up again today. to all of the small businesses who have spent almost a year adapting to the changes constantly asked of them. My heart breaks for the ones that couldn’t make it and I will continue to work my hardest at supporting the ones still trying in my town, province and country! I’ve tagged a few of the people that I think are creating great products that I was happy to include in the FMB taproom project. Be sure to check them out!

How much colour is enough or too much for you? I love colour, it makes me happy but I like to ground it with a base of neutrals giving me tons of flexibility to change things up!

Oh hi 2021! Who’s ready to tackle a new year? I’m looking forward to lots of great projects coming to fruition, exciting new challenges and of course, giving friends and family the longest hugs they can handle one day soon amiright?

It’s time to nestle in with my little family. Wishing everyone a warm and wonderful holiday season

Well, this home is no longer for my clients. The new owners purchased every single piece of furniture and accessory throughout the home and I’m happy to think that they are enjoying it now too. Aaaaaand the really fun part has been working with the same original clients to completely furnish and finish their new home . I’m thankful for lasting relationships and the trust of wonderful people! This new project has been especially fun as I make every attempt to choose as many pieces from local artisans, makers, and Canadian owned companies as I can. Watch for that project in the new year!
