Psalm 63 Joy in the Fellowship of God A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah.... O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. But those who seek my life, to destroy it, Shall go into the lower parts of the earth. They shall fall by the sword; They shall be a portion for jackals. But the king shall rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him shall glory; But the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.

And they said to Him, We have here only five loaves and two fish. He said, Bring them here to Me. Matthew 14:17,18 The people were following Jesus, listening to His teachings. The Bible tells us He had compassion on the multitude and he healed their sick. When the evening came, the disciples wanted to send the people away to buy food for themselves. Jesus, however, declared that they didn’t need to go away, that the disciples were to give them something to eat. The d...isciples brought to him what they had only five loaves and two fishes. Jesus responded, Bring them here to me. He blessed and broke them, the disciples distributed them and all the people ate. Two things to remember: 1) There is never only with Jesus. Five loaves and 2 fish didn’t seem like much in the midst of 500 men. They saw what they had as only. But Jesus took their only and multiplied it greatly to meet the needs of the many around them. The many He had compassion on. 2) When Jesus says, Bring them here to me you know something is about to happen! Jesus didn’t question how little they were or make mention that they weren’t sufficient to feed the people. He took those 5 loaves and 2 fish and in blessing and breaking them, they were multiplied. What only do you have in your life today? What do you need to hand over to Jesus for blessing, breaking and distributing? Jesus is calling us today, to bring to Him our only. He is asking us to entrust Him with the least and last in our lives, our 5 loaves and 2 fish. When we hand them over willingly, He will bless them, break them and distribute them to those around us that need to be fed.
