Snow storm? Snow problem! A ton of new stock has just arrived, making our trips to the grocery store that much shorter. Local & organic products to keep us warm and well fed during these colder weeks.

Our vision from day one for Lawrencetown Beach Cafe has been based off of sustainability, supporting small and local, eliminating waste, and less nonsense. It was created out of passion for local food security and simply good ingredients making really good food. It’s been quite the unexpected whirlwind hitting the ground running/ starting the business from scratch and it’s been a pleasure and a blessing having the community’s support. Since we’ve been away from the cafe, we’ve gone back to the foundation of it all with some good ol’ fashioned farm work at the family farm where we will be bringing it back to our kitchen for your hungry bellies when we reopen. Missing all your faces and hoping we get to see them again real soon.

Our collective hearts are broken. Not only having to deal with seclusion and the worry for our loved ones in a global pandemic, but the sanctity of our idyllic province has been shattered by an unimaginable act. We won’t let this allow us to forget that Nova Scotians are of the toughest and kindest breed. We check on our neighbours, smile at strangers, and lend a helping hand. We weather many a storm, both literally and figuratively. This act doesn’t define us, but we will never forget it and we will not forget them. In our hearts #novascotiastrong @surfjewelry

With Covid-19 here in our East Coast communities, we feel it is necessary to close until this all passes. As a new and small business, we do not take this decision lightly as it will obviously be of great impact on many levels (this is particularly a scary financial decision for us). We feel an obligation to our family, friends, community, and all customers to give the best service we can provide which is strongly rooted in food safety, cleanliness and sanitation. Given th...e interactive nature of the cafe environment that we so deeply cherish, we feel compelled to follow government guidelines and be proactive by closing our doors for the time being. We strongly advise you help flatten the curve in any way you can. In the meantime, this is a great opportunity to read up on the importance of local food in food security. Please wash your hands, stay kind to one another, don’t be racist and we look forward to seeing you all when this blows over! Love LBC PS, if anyone in the community is feeling anxious and unsure if they are able to get the necessities, please reach out to us - we are young and healthy and will do our best to assist.

Big things are happening, and one of the biggest is our newest team member. Simons a little loud sometimes, and can be a bit hot headed, but when you make coffee this good, a few screeches now and then can be ignored... thanks for sticking with us everybody, we’ve got espresso now!
