For anyone that lives, has lived or even visited Lawrencetown you understand that the Community Center is the heart of our community. Good day community. Let me begin this message by saying that I love my community and I take great pride in it. That being said I take great pride in doing what I can to preserve our great Community Centre. It’s one of the few that is not owned by the government...of course that being said we are not government funded either. We are a community sustained not for profit organization and we currently have an amazing group of volunteers that make up the Board of Executives and to...gether we have done some amazing things and made some amazing changes. All of that said...there are a few that don’t share the same pride of community and for some reason feel they are obliged to deface a property that so many work so hard to maintain. We just recently had several loads of garbage and other household waste removed from the property of which a great deal was illegally donated by passers by who for whatever reason either missed their weekly garbage day or maybe they just didn’t realize they have one. Dumping it on someone else’s property makes it someone else’s problem. Well...that problem just cost $500.00. That’s not money well spent...especially right now as we all struggle through these trying times. So here is what I want these privileged non caring individuals to know...so please pass it along in hopes that maybe just maybe they will see the error of their ways before it’s too late. The property of the LCC will now be under video surveillance and if I get a license plate or name of said individuals I will make it my mission to have them prosecuted to the full extent of the law...which may also include a personal law suit...and I will make sure your community knows exactly who you are...and that is a promise. To add to this...there is a garbage box located in the LCC parking lot that will be removed. It seems that for a few it’s more convenient to haul household garbage to the LCC then it is to take it to their curb. The box was designed to keep birds and animals from spreading garbage all over the place... but now it’s so full that the lid won’t close and that defeats the purpose. So...because the Hall only amounts to a couple of bags biweekly we will find another solution. The box will no longer be available. It’s sad that so few can ruin things for so many...just know I will be looking for these individuals so think long and hard before you dump on someone else’s property. To the majority of our great citizens...thank you for caring and if you ever have information to share that would help identify anyone damaging, defacing or dumping on LCC property please feel free to reach out to me directly. Respectfully yours. Wayne Barnaby LCC President See more

Today the Lost Dog Network posted Hope for the third time. 3 weeks. 1 month since I've looked into the brown eyes of a creature so kind and so loving that she s...teals hearts at first meeting. Hope is everywhere in our house. Is it normal to not want to vacuum the corners? So much of me needs that little bit of her to remain. I'm tired. We've hiked through brush, set up cameras, followed every lead. Does someone have her? Has the worst happened? Will my heart stop beating for a second everytime I see a Golden in a car. I got a tip about a woman walking a Golden Retriever who was being reluctant. Was that Hope? Was someone else looking at the sky and wondering why the leash somehow magically makes this dog lay down? Did they see my posters? Do they know my heart is breaking? Do their neighbour's suddenly hear her bark, and wonder when a new retriever came to town? I'm pleading, begging that if you have Hope, please consider this family. Please consider my children. What do I tell them. Bring her home. Drop her off, leave a note... no questions asked. I miss my friend, I miss my companion. Katie 298-0210
