It is with great sadness that the Lawrencetown & District Swimming Pool Society announces the difficult decision has been made to not open the pool for the 2020 season. The pool was opened in 1970 and has provided quality swimming instruction and recreational swimming for 50 years. But we have never experienced what we are all living with today. We know that there is still a bit of time before July 1st but there Is a lot of work that goes into preparation and right now we... are still facing a state of emergency. We would not be able to get everything in place for July 1st. We hope everyone is safe and well as we navigate these extraordinary times. We will be back for 2021 and look forward for healthy days! Even though swimming season is still a way off Committee members are working behind the scenes preparing for July 1st. With a small group to organize, write grant applications, hire and get the pool ready for water, we are trying out a less labour intensive approach to fundraising. We have partnered with Recreation NS and have R&R tickets to sell. If you haven’t already contacted us please do do ASAP if you are interested. We have until March 12th. Details are in a previous post on our page.

Good morning Lawrencetown Pool supporters. We are gearing up for the 2020 season and are participating in the Recreation Nova Scotia R&R Lottery to sell tickets as a fundraiser this year. 1st prize is an Island Outdoor Adventure Package $900; 2nd prize is a Whales, Trailse & Periwinkle Tales package $360; 3rd prize is White Point Getaway $300 and 4th prize Eskasoni Cultural Journeys Tour $80. Tickets are $2 each. Let us know if you would like to support the volunteer run pool in Lawrencetown.

The Lawrencetown Pool Needs You! Our Annual General Meeting will be this Saturday, January 11th at 10:30 am at the Lawrencetown library. Please come join us to find out how a few hours of your time can keep this awesome community pool going.

This is the last week the pool is open for 2019. Come out and enjoy public swim from 1-4 daily. We're missing Hannah Stoddart this week, who has headed early to try out for Varsity Women's soccer at St. FX. Good luck Hannah-and thanks for all your hard work to make a great swim season!

There will be no Aquacise this week due to the Exhibition. It will resume next week. We do have Swim Club this week and next week, however! Any kids that want to work on their strokes can come on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:15-4:45.

Aquacise will be cancelled for tonight due to the predicted weather and guard availability. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!

For Swim Club this week, we will be opening it up to any kids, regardless of level, that would like to come and work on their strokes with coaching available. The only restriction is that the swimmer must be able to swim one length of the pool without an aid. This is NOT a time to fool around; come to public swim if you’d like to do that. For this week, it will still be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:15-4:45, however some changes will be made in August so we’ll keep you updated.

Come on out to our Aquacise/Adult Swim tonight! Every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm, we offer Aquacise and Adult Swim for $5. Aquacise usually last for the first 45 minutes and the rest of the time can be used to swim around, or you can come earlier and swim while Aquacise is going on! We hope to see you out!
