We are blown away at the trust you’ve given us by booking up the whole Summer ‘21 season, site unseen!!! . At this point we are still working our buns off to have everything just about perfect but we are not quite ready to share the finished pics yet.... . Today Chris was putting on the finishing touches of the concrete slab he poured for the bedroom at the back of the cabin. Before he was done he called little Eli out and handed him a screwdriver. Here son, go ahead and write your initials and today’s date in the concrete.... . I thought for a minute about how many times as a kid I had wished I had gotten to write my name in concrete before it dried but never had the opportunity. Today I finally got my chance! . Eli has been a very patient 10 year old boy, spending every single weekend patiently watching and waiting, and all without a TV, internet, heat, furniture, running water or flushing toilets, it hasn’t been very easy on him. . Today was the best day ever! . We received this gift from our next door neighbours with a tidbit of history. . Our log cabin was originally built in 1850 in Thedford, ON.... It was moved to this resting place in 1930 where the additions were added on. Dubbed the Beechwood and renovated (1930) under direction of Hector Cowan. Original build by Glen Rawlings, Arthur Bannister & Jas E. Bannister. .
