Bert: Attention to detail has been a big part of our success in all areas. What is your favorite thing about Lely robots? Bert: Reliability. Ease of service and maintenance. We can do a lot of the work ourselves on them. Extremely cow friendly. When we built the barn that was our goal... to make it for the cows. I think the Lely robot is made for the cows. How have your dealings with LBJ been? Bert: Our dealings have been good with no complaints. Any emergency situations have been dealt with quickly. W have never been down for any length of time. How many cows do you milk and how much land do you crop? Bert: We usually milk about 160 cows with three A4 Lely robots. We crop about 900 acres. A couple hundred acres are cash crops with soybean, corn and winter wheat. There are still two generations working on the farm with a third that is hopefully going to stick around. What is the key to your success: Cory: Adam! Overview of the farm. Adam: The current barn is 10 years old this year. We are milking 110 cows on two A4 robots. Before we were in a free stall with 56 cows milking in a double 4 herringbone parlour.
