Return to play: As amenities open up, it is important to be healthy and active again, but equally important to do so safely. In order for organizations, leagues, and individuals to return to play, they are required to submit a Return to Play Plan to the municipality using the following template. Please submit all return to play plans to the Parks and Recreation department for review and approval before you can proceed with bookings. The template can be found at the attached link: https://www.lucanbiddulph.on.ca/parks-and-recreation
Please note that we are working hard to reopen the playgrounds in a safe and timely manner.

While the staff is working with the Middlesex London Health Unit to develop a plan to safely open our splash pad, we would like to remind residents of what is open and closed with regards to Parks and Recreation for Lucan Biddulph. Although the Provincial announcement earlier this week allowed for the opening of pools, the Lucan Pool will remain closed for the 2020 season, this was a difficult decision to make but in consideration for public safety, guidelines, timeline, and ...operations it was a decision that had to be made. We would like to remind residents that all green spaces and paths in parks remain open. Tennis courts and skate parks in Lucan Biddulph are open for residents to use, strict guidelines for social distancing and gathering sizes are still in place. Please continue to stay safe and enjoy responsibly. The Lions ball diamond, Heritage diamond, and soccer field behind the Community Centre are also open for use. Residents are reminded that with the Provincial opening, team sports are still not allowed, including baseball and soccer. There are to be no scrimmages or games. Strict social distancing is still in place. It is strongly recommended that there should be no sharing of equipment outside of your own household including balls. When possible wash hands before and after any activity involving nonmembers of your household. Play structures and fitness equipment remain closed, as do recreational facilities. Work is progressing on our dog park and will remain closed until completed to allow grass growth and finishing touches. Please stay tuned to our website for updates as this ever-evolving situation changes We appreciate residents understanding and commitment to adhering to guidelines. Continuing safe practices will get us through this together. - Paul Smith, Manager of Parks and Recreation If you have additional questions or comments, please give us a call at 519-227-4442.
With the Provincial announcement yesterday regarding the expanded reopening of recreational activities, we will be evaluating how we might safely open splash pa...ds and other amenities in the coming weeks. Please be sure to check our Facebook page or website for the most up-to-date information on potential re-openings. See more
Update: Residents are advised to not disturb or attempt to remove or treat the hogweed from the municipal lands themselves. Professional extermination of the plant has been arranged to begin early next week. It can be a three-year process, and if not done properly can result in the spread of the invasive plant. Please use caution around this noxious weed.
