Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, announced close to $28 million in research infrastructure support through the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI). The funding covers the urgent need for equipment for ongoing research related to COVID-19. Lambton College's Research & Innovation Lambton College is thrilled to be among the 79 funded projects across the country. Lambton has been awarded $50,000 to purchase state of the art infrastructure to continue their work to support... the fight against COVID-19. This equipment will be fundamental in the success of two of Lambton’s current projects focused on assisting with the COVID-19 pandemic. The first of these two projects aims to facilitate a rapid test to identify people that have been exposed and become immune to the virus, and the second project’s goal is to produce a safe an effective vaccine using linear covalently closed DNA minivectors. The Ontario Government announced its plan to provide Pollution Probe with $375,000 to collect plastic waste from marinas around the province using innovative plastic-capture technology. This will be the largest initiative of its kind in the world to tackle plastic pollution in provincial lakes and waterways. Lambton College Research & Innovation is proud to support this project in collaboration with the University of Toronto.
