Our Oxford Award recipient didn't just get through the Summer of 2020 - she thrived and excelled in all she did. Well done Sally! Sally's hard work, conscientious work ethic, and never-ending bucket of energy was absolutely deserving of the Oxford Award. We are proud of the resilience and motivation of all of our students, each and every day. The summer of 2020 had you all, and Sally especially, showcase those attributes more than ever. Keep in touch Sally and best of luck in the next phase of life. Congratulations and well done from all of us in the ELC

CONGRATULATIONS!! Each semester, the English Language Centre presents one student with the Oxford Award. This award was created in memory of a beloved instructor we lost, Rachel Trithardt. We continue to present this award in her memory. Our team decides on one student who shows perseverance, motivation, and a desire to learn. For the Winter 2020 term (January to April), the English Language Centre has chosen to present the Oxford Award to . . . (drumroll) . . . -------...----- Stephen Adu!! ------------ Stephen’s EAP instructor, Herb Claxton, offered these comments to describe Stephen: Stephen is a deserving student for the Oxford Award. Arriving in class well in advance of the start time to prepare for the day ahead and requesting supplementary assignments to build his English skills, Stephen showed a consistent effort to prepare himself for further studies. Stephen enriched the EAP classroom in many wayshis perceptive comments in group discussions and thoughtful consideration of the needs of others helped to create a positive learning environment for all of us to work in. All the very best in your future endeavours, Stephen. ------------ Stephen has also prepared a message to all past, current, and future English students at Lethbridge College: No matter what you are going through, keep pushing, keep trying, don't give up, keep chasing your dream. Stephen Adu ------------ Let us take a moment to congratulate Stephen Adu on this award and acknowledge his journey through the English Language Centre at Lethbridge College.
