The École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), the City of Montreal, the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ), Éco Entreprises Québec (EEQ) and Recyc-Québec unveiled yesterday morning the details of partnered size on research of innovative applications using recycled glass in pavement structures . This shared commitment will at ÉTS funds reaching $ 450,000 over three years to carry out studies and tests in laboratories in the field of road infrastructure. To this sum must be added $ 220,000 from the internship program, MITACS-Accelerate. The research aims to develop more sustainable materials and environmentally friendly, while offering a new life to all glass containers placed in the recycling bin. Test boards offered by the City of Montreal will assess the performance of asphalt mixtures incorporating the recovered glass materials.
