We need your help in identifying illegal electrical work happening in your area MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Jan. 03, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In the past fiscal year, ESA conducted 107 investigations and successfully prosecuted 30 individuals for doing electrical work illegally. The vast majority of these individuals were unlicensed. But we know that there are many more unlicensed contractors out there, putting Ontarians at risk and competing unfairly with legitimate businesses lik...e yours. How can you help us? It’s easy! Just send an email to [email protected] with the following information: Name of the company or individual doing illegal electrical work (if known) Site address and type of electrical work being done. If you don’t provide complete address information, we may not be able to follow up on the information Date the work took place (if known) Include as much supporting information as possible including vehicle licence plate numbers or other identifying details. This process is intended to deal with companies or individuals who do electrical work but don’t have an ECRA/ESA Electrical Contractor Licence. When making a report, you may remain anonymous. All information submitted will be reviewed, regardless of whether or not personal information is provided. Together, we can improve electrical safety in Ontario and help ensure a level playing field for the more than 8,000 licensed electrical contractors like you who operate within the provincial licensing system for electrical work.
