During this COVID-19 crisis, and as part of a new series of measures announced by our provincial health officer, Ladysmith & District Credit Union, LCU Insuranc...e, and LDCU Financial Management have implemented a policy to protect our members and our employees. As part of this process, we now require all employees, members, and clients to wear a face mask or appropriate face covering when entering any of our branches or subsidiaries. Yesterday morning we experienced a significant disruption to service as a result of an outage to Shaw’s fibre optic network. This disruption impacted online ban...king, ATM and Point of Sale transactions, as well as transactions originating from other financial institutions. We worked diligently with Shaw throughout the day and evening yesterday and systems started to come back online at approximately midnight. All transactions from yesterday have successfully processed through members’ accounts, and we have returned to full functionality. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced due to this outage. If you have any questions about transactions through your account, please call our Contact Center at 250-245-2247. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience.

Due to the continuing Shaw outage, we are still experiencing multiple system disruptions. Online banking, ATM, Point of Sale transactions, and all phone lines a...re still currently unavailable. For LCUI clients, this also affects our ability to respond to insurance renewal emails. Please know that we are working diligently with Shaw for a solution and will continue to update on social media as soon as we have an ETA. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this is causing our members and clients.

Shaw is currently experiencing a number of outages across Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. Unfortunately, this has greatly affected functionality at LCU Insurance Agencies. With the internet outage, MemberDirect, ATM, POS, phone lines, and the ability to respond to emails are all currently down. As we receive more information, we will continue to update on social media. We apologize for the inconvenience.
