We offer programs that help those with learning disabilities and ADHD find success. Reading Rocks, Executive Skills, Social Skills, SOAR (helping with the transition into high school) as well as support for parents and caregivers. It is changing lives and making a difference. We're looking for people who also want to make difference by supporting this work with a donation. We know these are challenging times, but if you are able, we hope you will consider making a donation to LDAWC. You can donate direct to our page at https://ldawc.ca/donate.html or on our crowd-funding page at https://give.charityvillage.com/give.charityvillage.com_lda Thank you so much for thinking of us!

On May 26th, join Keith Gelhorn, ADDvocacy CEO and coach, as he presents his workshop on his ADHD story, why he started ADDvocacy.org and how to navigate the up to $24,000 in Grants for Post-Secondary Students with Permanent Disabilities through Canda Student Loans. He will also discuss navigating accomodations both in and out of the classroom and will be available for any questions that parents and students may have. Being a caregiver is a very important role; so important, that we often forget to take care of ourselves. Join us on Wednesday, April 21st at 6:30 pm for our Care for the Caregiver Workshop, where we will learn about some common caregiver experiences, such as empathic strain and burnout. We will learn strategies for practicing self-care, coping, and setting boundaries. Resources will be provided. Presented by: Angela Heeley, Mental Health Promotion and Education Coordinator for CMHAWW. Register today: https://ldawc.ca//ldawc-care-for-the-caregiver-virtual-wo/
Summer registration for our popular Reading Rocks program is now open! Please note that spaces are limited! https://ldawc.ca/reading-rocks.html Reading Rocks is a one-on-one literacy program for children aged 6-12 who require support with their literacy skills (those with LDs). Children are matched with a trained tutor who will develop activities and games to teach the essential literacy concepts of phonics, sight words, and fluency, while building children’s motivation and fostering self-regulation. One of the aims of Reading Rocks is to make reading fun! We are able to offer this program free at this time because of a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. #readingrocks #ldawc #reading #summer2021 #Guelph
