Beaver pond at High Lonesome is a favourite destination for so many of our visitors...especially families. Our resident beaver never fails to impress visitors with his skills.

Lanark & District Chapter of the OWA 10.11.2020

FYI -- Re Bill King Some exciting news! Yep. After a lifetime of helping others get elected, I have decided to take the plunge. I am running for the provincial ...Progressive Conservative nomination in Lanark Frontenac Kingston. Now serving my second term on municipal Council in Lanark Highlands, I believe my political, government and community experience uniquely positions me to be a Member of Provincial Parliament. I’ve worked at Queen’s Park for nearly two decades with Premier Mike Harris; Plus another six years as a senior aide to the federal Conservatives in Ottawa. I’ve led the national Public Affairs practice for one of the world’s largest communications companies; And launched three successful small family businesses in Lanark and Perth. My time on Lanark Council has been incredibly satisfying. As a municipal councilor, I have had an opportunity to work closely with many amazing organizations, such as our local Legion, Youth Centre and Community Health Centre, and to visit many other the communities throughout Lanark and Frontenac Counties. While it is impossible in public life to please everyone all the time, it has been very gratifying to be able to support such great work at the community level. Now I am looking forward to taking my experience to Queen’s Park. We need a common sense voice at Queen's Park; a strong, stable and positive voice in support of our local needs and challenges. Someone who can work WITH the government, while at the same time bringing divergent views in the community together in the search for practical solutions. I am very grateful for all the encouragement I have received from rank & file PC Party members throughout the Riding, as well as the support I am receiving from Dawn and the kids. Running for elected office is a huge family commitment, and I am very fortunate that my family is helping to make this campaign possible. Anyone can join the PC Party to vote. At this stage, no date has been set for the provincial nomination, so I’m asking all of my supporters in Lanark Frontenac Kingston to purchase two-year (or more) memberships in the local Riding Association to ensure your membership doesn't expire before the meeting.
