For those of you that were unable to attend....Here are some pictures from the 50th anniversary of LDCSS this past weekend. It was an awesome time of reading hi...storical details, seeing "old" friends and reminiscing about the high school. It was great to give God glory for these 50 years - how it all started and how it continues on. The CONNECTED issues give a great overview of the schools beginning back in 1961 (first discussed), the $7500 purchase of the schoolhouse on Tremont Road, and the purchase of property on Braesyde Ave for $25000. The photos are not the best but if you can enlarge them you can see how the first 27 students grew into the student body of 2015-2016. The operating budget of 1965-66 was $18,400 and tuition of $75/grade 9 and $100/grade 10 ! I am sure lots of people will post photos so enjoy them all !! See more

This morning the LDCSS staff and students celebrated the 50th anniversary with an assembly and special 50th anniversary t-shirts for all thanks to the Student Council. Following the assembly we took a roof top picture of the staff and student body to commemorate this year. This was followed by cake- of course! We hope you will visit us for the Open House tomorrow from 1-3 pm! Come walk through 50 years of Faith, Learning and Life at LDCSS!

The alumni choir will be rehearsing this Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 in the PAR in preparation for the anniversary dinner this weekend. If you haven't signed up for the choir but would still like to sing, you are welcome to come out to rehearsal on Thursday night!

We had a great day today as many grandparents and seniors joined us for the seniors matinee of 'Much Ado About Nothing'. Cynthia S. was here today. Her children and grandchildren attended LDCSS. As Cynthia was watching the play she thought she recognized the dress that one of the actors was wearing. We later took her back to the costume room to visit the dress. Sure enough, it was a dress that she had made and wore herself in the 60s. She later donated it with other items to the school and forgot about it. Attached is a picture of Cynthia and Nicola, and a dress that is still enjoyed 50 years later!
