University of Toronto study on the positive economic impacts of the Bloor St cycling lane pilot, pointing to cycling as a potential local business driver. Would equally apply in London, Ontario. Measuring the Local Economic Impacts of Replacing On-Street Parking With Bike Lanes: A Toronto (Canada) Case Study ... Using a casecontrol and prepost design, we surveyed merchants and shoppers to understand the impacts of the bike lanes on economic activities. We find no negative economic impacts associated with the bike lanes: Monthly customer spending and number of customers served by merchants both increased on Bloor Street during the pilot. Bloor/Danforth is the major street that runs east-west through the city. https://www.tandfonline.com//10.1080/01944363.2019.1638816
